Trentadue is known for their Alexander Valley reds, but winemaker Miro Tcholakov crafts a lovely Pinot Noir with grapes sourced from Marcucci Vineyard in the Russian River Valley. It showcases pretty floral and cherry notes. Layers of black cherry, spice, and earth envelope the palate. The wine's juicy, cinnamony finish seals the deal. Only eight barrels were made. Gorgeous golden bell with bright luminescent head. Sheeted lacing that does a Miro to Arp Dada dance in its endless plunge. Grapefruit and orange honey blend into the juniper and lemon peel with clear marmalade coriander and even lemonade aromas. Swirl this a bit and floral elements appear; hibiscus and rose, dried honeysuckle and hints of jasmine. Quite beautiful. There are piney hop notes that secure its seasonality, too.
Juniper jumps on the tongue and roof, a smooth clementine to grapefruit edginess, clear coriander, candied lemon peel and an intensely satisfying finish that finds all the elements in harmony.
