Nose: pepper and jam with hints of onion. Very savory with hints of cocoa powder.
Palate: deliciously mellow, with a smooth, lingering finish. Mild tannin, berry and licorice.

Probably the best wine I've ever had — 11 years ago
Wow! These folks know how to do wine. This is the way Amador County Zin is done. Great cherry bouquet, light to medium body, fruit forward, smooth mild tannin, medium finish. The winemaker is the inventor of Captain Crunch and Clif bars! A true food scientist! — 8 years ago
A top notch GSM! Restrained in intensity but full of flavor. — 8 years ago
Wonderfully silky blend from Clif Lede... Amazing with BBQ or a juicy steak! — 9 years ago
A sneak peek to a new addition to the line up! Slated to be only available to the wine club in November '14. Velvety, rich and floral due to a touch of Viognier that was blended in. A must try. — 10 years ago
Light. Not too fruity. — 10 years ago

Color of dark burgundy. Nose of barrel, cedar wood, ripe plum, anise, spice, and a bit salty bacon, and Taste of condensed sweetness, like dried tropical fruits, sweet grapes, zesty lime, medium in tannins and low acidity, a bit oaky and smoky, and smooth. Aftertaste of bittersweet zest, oaky note, spice, a hint of tobacco leaves, and sweet grapes. Overall, it is a bottle that offers quite refreshing experience of Cab, medium structure but full of flavors, a tiny bit watery, low in alcohol content, and it is time to enjoy it now. — 8 years ago
