For me, this was a beautiful classic Brunello that delivered in taste and expectations. You will definitely need time for it to show its true beauty however you won’t be disappointed. Tonight I am enjoying the 2018 Torrione Petrolo Val D'Arno Di Sopra Petraviva Rosso. Super Tuscan from Bucine, Italy. A blend of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

On the nose we have blackberry, cherry, black olive, anise, dried roses, cedar, tobacco, leather and earth.

On rhe palate is red cherry, raspberry, blackberry, red currant, cassis, wild herbs, spice, pencil shavings and earth.

This wine is full bodied supple and very delicious medium + to high acidity and medium + to high firm sandy mouthcoating tannins that leave you with a long red and black fruit herbaceous finish. A new week again is upon us with many new and exciting challenges. Lets meet these challenges head on and make it a fruitful experience. Please stay safe and healthy and enjoy the week. Ampeleia, beyond this winery in the heart of Maremma (Tuscany) there was a swiss couple: Erica and Peter Max Suter, they bought an abandoned piece of land which since 2002 has been reorganized under the protection of Elisbetta Foradori. Roccatederighi's the ancient town nearby that spread over the Metalliferous Hills. All the Ampeleia wines bear names that recall ancestral ideas and profound concepts taken from ancient Greek culture: Kepos, Empatia, Ampeleia. Biggest enemy in the wine region is an excess heat and too much sun exposure of the vines which could provides too mushy wines or some dispreferred overipe. How does Marco Tait in the vineyards first then in the cellar, fight against such an adversary? Altitude, actually three different altitudes!
