Big Napa Meritage. Lot of horsepower, not very much finesse. I don't drink a ton of Beringer but from memory would characterize this as a more highly concentrated, structured, rounder version of the Knight's Valley cab without the balance or precision of the Reserve. A solid buy at Costco's $33 price point but wouldn't buy at full retail, which I believe is double. At that price point, would go with the Cinq Cepages bottling from another Treasury Wine Estate producer on the west side of the ridge, Chateau St. Jean. — 9 years ago
Tasted this at the winery and had to buy a bottle. They told me it's the same as the Cinq Cepages. — 9 years ago

Really enjoyed this blend! For $25.99 at Total Wine I'm really happy. Normally when I hear "red blend" I'm not excited but I loved this! — 9 years ago

Thymiopoullos Vineyards (Trilofos, Naoussa) earned the wow award (IMHO) in the Greek trade show at 25 Lusk earlier during 2015 for its Xinomavro, and allowing me to meet the winemaker. I won't leave home without it. Passion fruit with a hint of Cardomom, smooth, round, long yet dynamic across the palate, leaves you speechless like a Rubenesque ménage a cinq. Perfect for a romantic encounter, while remaining a fabulous bargain, challenging to share without intentions. — 9 years ago

Awesome blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, Cab, Cab Franc and Petite Syrah. — 9 years ago
Absolutely wonderful wine recommended to me by the lovely nelleen at high timber. Lovely dark red colour and cassis nose. Very quaffable straight out of the bottle with the taste echoing the nose. Should improve further as the integration of the Ribena notes completes with the rest of the wine. — 9 years ago

Half bottle with tasting menu at Le Cinq in Paris. Meursault is my favorite white burgundy. Nose was incredible, good length. Rich but balanced. Lemon, wet stone, white peach. — 11 years ago

This is the 'tindery' Cab franc / sauv blanc blend. Interesting enough, the sauv shows by the bucket load with a semi-slippery initial texture until the grainy greenish tannin from the Franc kicks in. The herbaceous notes from the sauv only add to how herbaceous Franc can be. It shows a lot of black cherry, sour raspberry and cut green herbs. If you look at it deeply enough it does show some guava and lychee notes from the sauv but they're probably not even worth mentioning. Co-ferment of the two I'm lead to believe, approach with an open mind, it can throw you about a bit. At $38 a bottle, bit of a gamble in my opinion, especially for something as experimental as such — 8 years ago
