Truly A phenomenal example of a great Napa cab. This is firing on all cylinders. I still have a dozen left in my cellar and can't wait to see the evolution that they will take in the next 15 years. Winner, winner chicken dinner! Great minds think a like Carl! LOL we must've had 60 bottles of wine that night and I still remember Christine saying "I really like that wine" when you walked in the door with that bottle! It's easy to understand why Coquerel calls Sauvignon Blanc its flagship varietal—clearly the result of excellent fruit quality combined with the sheer talent of Bordeaux-born winemaker, Christine Barbe. The 2012 Le Petit Coquerel boasts a vibrant nose of gooseberries and lime zest, punctuated by spicy undertones reminiscent of juniper berries and white pepper. Lovely on the palate, and texturally quite round, with pithy layers of white grapefruit and star fruit. Herbaceous at the close with a long, lingering finish. — 10 years ago

2010 vintage. Echezeaux. Medium ruby hue. Touch heady on initially opening. Tightly sprung. Hints of tan leather, mulberry and blackberry bush. Cinnamon and old wood and green decaying leaf. Some complexity starting to show. On the palate, dry, medium plus acidity, plush ripe tannins, medium body, silky mid palate, medium plus alcohol, medium plus concentration of flavour. There's some good length on the finish. Certainly decent. Not a blockbuster and lacks some complexity at this stage of youth. Drink now until 2026. — 9 years ago
