Oh shit! This thing is structured, fruit up front, big bold oak and bone dry finish! Red mtn killer vintage...glad I got another, still feeling a little young! — 8 years ago
This 2011 Tamarack Cellars Ciel du Cheval Vineyard Reserve Red Mountain Bordeaux Blend. 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot and 29% Cabernet Franc.
The aromas are full of dark fruit, black raspberry, black cherry, black currant, cocoa, violets, tobacco, spice, clean soil and a mineral component.
The palate confirms the nose. There is exciting dark fruit, cherry, black raspberry, black currant, clove, mocha, black pepper, graphite and an earthy soil.
This wine is full bodied with a silky smooth mouth feel. There is medium + Tannin, medium + acidity with a long smooth finish. Very impressed with this wine. Happy Fathers Day and have a safe rest of the weekend. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 9 years ago

3L 1975 Lafite Rothschild Bordeaux. Drank at Nobu holiday dinner. This was served alongside the 1978 Cheval Blanc. Wine was good, but paled in comparison to the Cheval Blanc. — 10 years ago
100 percent Syrah from Red Mountain. Delicious, light to medium bodied. Apparently hard to get distributed, but worth it! — 12 years ago

Very good first impression, not as full bodied as I expected which was nice. — 9 years ago
Red Mountain is a sleeper site for the blood of Jove. Classic profile of tangy sour cherry, some spice and black tea over a nice solid tannic backbone. Tiny bit of tar on a nice medium-long finish. Drink up if you have this rarity...the prime time is now! Cin cin! — 10 years ago
Reddish ruby with a little brown. Almost opaque. Pure nose of black cherry, mint, herbs, cola. Incredibly rich and round in the mouth. Long finish. Guessed old Heitz Martha's Vineyard. I think that's a complement to both. Opened 5 hrs in advance and then drunk over 4 more hours, this became more refined with time. Kind of angular versus the more opulent 45 Mouton. Parker's favorite wine the legendary 47 Cheval Blanc. What a treat to compare the two side by side. I think the 45 Mouton wins at the wire tho. — 10 years ago
Still showing a tad too much new oak but well structured and loads of fruit — 11 years ago

Good vintage to be drunk for a CB, complex nose with leather, wood, and amazing black fruits. Great cost per value. — 8 years ago
I had a bottle of this wine a while ago and it was spectacular: 94pts. The second, which I drank a few weeks ago, was very good, but not as good as the first one, but still pretty decent: 90 pts. On average 92. A fine claret by the owners of Cheval Blanc. — 9 years ago
