We finally managed to have a few bottles of Clos Saint Andre to taste. Very elegant and well done Merlot that shows great fruit and acidity, and has velvety and polished tannins. Decant 60 minutes before drinking or hold for 5 to 6 years. Really good wine, recommended. — 6 years ago

Ovenbird w M and Ritchie. Mineral. Textured. Fresh. Paired well w ankimo.
The 2012 Condrieu Coteaux du Chery, which comes from one of the most heralded sites in the appellation, is also brilliant (as is his 2011!). The most rich and textured of the lineup, it offers thrilling notes of white peach, crushed rock, buttered grapefruit, flowers and tangerine to go with a medium to full-bodied, layered, yet brilliantly fresh and detailed texture that keeps you coming back to the glass. It too will drink nicely for 4-5 years.
I had a fabulous visit with proprietor Andre Perret at his cellar located just north of Chavanay. Soft spoken, charming and generous, he runs an immaculate cellar and releases up to three Condrieus in a vintage. In addition to his whites, he fashions elegant, almost Burgundian-styled reds from Saint Joseph that warrant more attention.

Great with Salmon. Would be good with Pork as well. More like a Pinot than a Merlot. — 4 years ago

Chemical/medicinal nose. Smells like Faslodex (don’t google this). Slight pasture note. Winter foliage. Ruby fruit. Tart. Cherry Jolly Rancher. — 8 years ago
Vin plus en finesse que beaucoup de MSD. Cerise, champ de fleur, un peu terreux. Elegant et délicat pour un 2009 — 8 years ago
Big fruit. Paired pretty well with some Mimolette. — 3 years ago
Nice nose with oaky notes and currant and small red berries. There is a tiny bit of meat juice too. The palate is well made with a good width, some matter and a nice grainy mouthfeel that expand in the rear with a spherical effect before a great finish with fruits, that meat juice touch and a tiny touch of bitterness. I have had much worse Saint emilion grand cru — 3 years ago

One of my favs! Love White Burgs from the Saint Aubin region. Might want to give this a short decant for the funk to blow off. Medium plus gold color. Camomile, lemon, and hints of butter and unripe melons. Complex and well balanced. Rich, deep wine. Long finish. I’m a buyer if anyone knows where to find some. — 3 years ago
