I was ready to be skeptical about this because I generally am that way with Italian whites, but this is damn good. Nose has lots of fragrant stony minerality, fresh pear-like fruit, and a light herbal, slightly resinous note. Fresh, but with nice concentration and a long, very pure finish. Pretty nice! — 7 years ago
Tasted blind. Medium gold color. Looks older. Notes of dried apricots and beeswax. In the mouth it's nicely rich, but there's no significant acidity to balance against the fruit. We are all convinced this isn't Chardonnay. I guess 70's Bordeaux Blanc. No, its (old) CA Chardonnay. Interesting data point. — 8 years ago
A gorgeous red blend. — 10 years ago
Salmon, orange in color. Citrus, watermelon rind, and stony minerality with some good acidity and a lingering finish. Sinskey is a perennial Rose favorite, and for good reason. Well made and enjoyable. — 10 years ago

Very smooth. No bitter after taste. — 11 years ago
Sourced from the Saint Joseph and Grand Crus subzones of the appellation, which give fine, stony wines. A high-lying sandy parcel gives more complexity, structure, and acidity to the wine. Medium Ruby with red fruit and floral aromas. On the palate flavors of red plum, cherry, banana and earthy mint. Vivid acidity, medium fine tannins, dry with a medium+ finish. Very good and some bottle age will benefit. Tasting Sample. — 6 years ago
One of the great terroirs of Sancerre, paired with buffalo chicken salad because why not. This wine is just pure pleasure—rich and expansive but with plenty of mineral cut, stony but honeyed and suffused with a kaleidoscope of citrus and stone fruit, with a hint of marzipan and toast on the finish. — 7 years ago

Picked for rosé. Pressed and fermented white. Small amount of Cab added at the end for color. Tons of acid. Very refreshing. — 10 years ago
This Etna rosso is quite nice, stony, so much volcano mineral ash! — 11 years ago
Napa Chardonnay made with neutral oak. Round and zesty, great because of how not Napa it is. The vineyards are also gorgeous. — 6 years ago
This is clearly intended to portray a Burgundian profile. And it largely succeeds. The Chablis-like nose has wet stony earth and apply fruit. Crisp acids. Minerally flavors. The problem — and this is a problem I see whenever someone in a region with abundant sunshine actively tries to rein in the ripeness by picking early — is that by picking before the time when nature gives you the ripeness IT wants, the wines somehow lack depth and feel a little “clipped.” So, in sum, I like this, but it lacks the depth to be profound. — 7 years ago
2014. both ripe juicy fruits and stony mineralogy. purple and red berries/plums- bramble. stony graphite elements on nose then on late palate through firm tannins. Sure- drink now but... — 8 years ago
Decant, Decant, Decant. Dark red fruits, white pepper and floral notes are expressive and detailed. It's dense and substantial, with pretty floral, herbal and earthy aromas and stony, smoky, olive flavors. Good to the last drop. — 9 years ago
Incomparable Riesling! Very oily and mineral. Nose is dominated by stony complexity: wet rocks, moss, white tea, straw, wool and jasmin. Discrete fruit associations in the back: peach kernel and red apple peel. Hints of petrol. Salty palate, very mineral and stony too, wonderful concentration and focus. Lots of tension and persistence in the impressive finish, which caries its alcoholic content (14%) well. Oh, and its completely dry! It rocks, big time. — 10 years ago
Waxy, strawberries, litchi, licorice, stony minerals, almost salty, this has punch and width, and provides an amazing texture on the length, complex and mineral-lazed finish. Gorgeous and for me one of the top examples of this variety made in the New a World. A.A. Badenhorst feeling! — 10 years ago
Superb red vine, one of the best — 12 years ago

Another terrific showing from the superb Vincent Dauvissat. After an hour decant the wine shows its racy energy, stony minerality, chamomile, oyster shells and its seamless integration of oak and acid. Finishes wonderfully long and with great tension. — 5 years ago
