Delicious. Balanced fruit with earthy flavors in the back. Great Languedoc red! — 7 years ago
This was dynamite for the price. Needed some time to open up but after about 2 hours in a decanter, it sang. Rich texture reminiscent of some of Von Niepperg's higher end estates. What I loved most was the absolute seamless and perfect integration of oak on this bottle. Rarely have I been as pleased with the oaking regiment of a wine as I was with this wine. Perfectly sweet oak and vanilla coming through without being too prevalent. A beauty of a bottle for $25. — 8 years ago
May 10, 2016. Lunch wine, day 2 l'Ecole du Vin. 70% merlot, 10% each Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, & Petit Verdot. Well balanced lovely — 9 years ago
Given for our 2015 birthdays from Sabine and Maarten with the 2005. Opened 1/2/2016 at kalaloch -did quasi vertical tasting. Nose: berry, smoke, nut, strawberry-rhubarb pie, vanilla. Taste: SPICY, dark cherry, wood smoke, pine. Very full but not a heavy finish. May be the smokey-est wine we have ever tasted. (Would be excellent with steak!) — 9 years ago

Given to me by old friend Marvin Stauffer. This Chateau was his favorite. Rest in Peace Marv! — 11 years ago

Wonderfully refreshing on a hot summer afternoon. — 7 years ago
So much salinity and complexity on the nose. Super mineral with a little texture on the palate. Really really pretty wine especially for the cost! — 8 years ago
I will miss this bottle it was fantastic — 9 years ago
Beaucastel is by far my favorite chateauneuf, killed this one a little young but was still a very rich and bold but nicely balanced Bordeaux. Dark cherry and dark chocolatey notes. — 9 years ago

Yummy. Great sale@ central market right now $14 as I recall. — 10 years ago
Bright, clear ruby with a great nose of cassis, blackberry, violet and mint.
Beautiful length and finesse. Great impression of crushed fruit with hints of forest floor and cedar. The finish leaves a lasting impression of sweet red fruit and supported by a soft blanket of tannins. This is the proverbial iron fist in a velvet glove - just lovely — 7 years ago
Tasted at Chateau.
2/3 CS, 1/3 M
Deep and dark garnet, opaque, compact and youthful rim.
Rather restrained nose, much less expressive even as compared with its little sibling. Classic bouquet of cassis, graphite, minerals, and boysenberry.
Structured and definitely a very serious wine that needs time. Leafy cassis, herbal notes, pine cone, minerals.
Didn't want to come out of its shell today but potentials are evident. 10 years worth of patience minimum required for this mere "second wine". 90+ — 8 years ago
Went great with food, tannic by itself. — 9 years ago

Черешня, корица, очень сочно. Элегантно, даже красиво. Прям понравилось. Редко найдешь нормальную Францию не по цене чугунного моста. — 6 years ago
