Dinner at August New Orleans 3/1/18 Charlotte Bonney treat. Lowest priced bottles in long list including Le Tache at two grand. $40. Good balanced nose and palate with more earthy savory notes than primary fruit and medium finish. More interesting than expected. — 7 years ago
Have not had this in about 3 years. Definitely needed to check in. Stunning nose. Sweet spices, bursting red cherry fruit, wet earth, sweet well integrated oak. Stunning aromas. Wow this has turned around. Palate is elegant and complex with tremendous depth. Sweet sappy fruit and a tiny bit of hard yet sweet tannin that needs maybe 1 hour to unfurl. Terrific intensity and freshness. Light yet packed and very complex. This has aged into something beautiful. — 8 years ago
Burn. Ernest Burn.
1994 in impeccable shape. Deep, burnished gold color.
Candied pear and yellow cider apple, marzipan and blueberry. Gasoline.
12.5% alc, totally dry, loooong finish. Layers of waxy yellow plum and pithy grapefruit.
Such fun to follow this wine over the course of 6 hours with the staff at Corkbuzz Charlotte. And to share with a few special guests.

Excellent red blend. Left bank Bordeaux-esque. Earth on the nose, strong tannins, fruit comes later on tongue. Overall excellent recommendation by Corkbuzz Charlotte. — 9 years ago
(La Cave de Famille Herrmann, JA's childhood friend). Goldfish straw. Deep, gouttey, copper filing nose. Intensely mineral and richly earthy. Not at all tropical. Impressive nose. Extremely serious on palate, masculine, even austere. Not very 2006, in a good way. Mineral, densely textured. Long but needs many years to really blossom. Very fine. — 9 years ago

This is from one of 39 bottles that came from a barrel of Scotch bottled by Bruichladdich under the Port Charlotte label. It was distilled in 2001 and bottled in 2009, with a 7 year age statement. It's sweet bacon on the nose and spicy, smokey maple candy on the palette. — 11 years ago
Summer cocktail disguised as a wine. This is actually made with Riesling and I was surprised how much I enjoyed this. Very fruit but not too sweet to consider it a dessert wine.
The setting was idyllic: sitting on the winery’s porch with a summer breeze with the mountains in the distance. I brought a bottle back for the office to try so it’ll be interesting to see if this still holds up without the countryside surroundings. — 7 years ago
Smells amazing. Tastes better. It's the X-Men of BC Cabs. It's something you didn't think would jump so effortlessly from bottle to tummy. It's inhuman. It's a mutant. It's fighting for truth and drunkenness for those who can't fight for themselves. Wow. Thanks Charlotte. — 8 years ago
Rich, lush, lovely cherry flavor, without any sweetness. Scrumptious! Had with the Oakley's x4, C,&CV in Charlotte. — 8 years ago

Sauturnes front giving way to heat, spice, and that musty peaty terroir. Pulls no punches, but velvet gloves every one. — 8 years ago
