Tried 2 different vintages in a row, last night after a long day of clean up from water heater bursting and flood. Sunday night 2012 Roar Chard reminded me of Kistler style of Chard, in fined unfiltered, full body great fruit wonderfully balanced.. Like Kistler sentiment at bottom. Now tonight with trash half way down the street the 2011 Roar Sierra Mar Vineyard is rich as Chards get. Great fruit with nice mouth feel no sentiment , refreshing tropical fruits with just a touch of oak.. Boy is this good!! 1985 vintage. At Hotel Les Crayeres. Medium golden hue. Hints of oxidation with mushroom truffle aromas that did blow off to some degree over time. Not a whole lot of primary fruit here, especially when compared with the superior Champagne Charlie from the same vintage that was as fresh as a daisy. On the palate, medium acidity and body, medium plus concentration of flavours and finish. Drink up. Good but not stellar. — 8 years ago

NV. Oh Charlie H. Elegant, chalky, bready, and red fruited. Hints of brioche. On the palate, crisp and clean acidity, medium concentration of red currant and brioche. Good finish. A great NV rose. — 10 years ago
