Crisp bright fruit up front with a long smooth mineral earthy finish — 5 years ago
3rd time I’ve had the chance to try this wine which was released more than 20 years after the vintage. It’s a real stunner, showing some secondary characteristics but not oxidized. This is what great chardonnay can become with age, showing the awesome terroir of the Charles Heintz vineyard. — 7 years ago
I love this wine and have urged Sharon Harris (owner of Rarecat Wine - full disclosure, a friend of mine) to start making this wine again. The color is a beautiful golden and the taste is a tropical explosion, with lots of Meyer lemons and caramel. Very hard to find, but if you do, buy it! — 7 years ago
⚡️Man, these wines have so much verve.. they remind me of my 4-yr old - full of freaking energy and absolutely unrelenting... in a good way of course 😇
Nose is so clean with some mineral drive, crisp Granny Smith, and floral aromatics, palate is lively and fresh.. much more crisp and light weight than the Charles Heintz vineyard. The anti-Cali chard. Rombauer lovers, look away! 😆 — 8 years ago
Ummmmm so good. Fresh fruity and easy...delicious! — 5 years ago

Another 4th Friday for the books! Insane pulls this month to follow up the most epic month (April) that we’ve ever had!
This is viscous and tart. Very pear driven. Some lemon and lime (reminds me of a more full bodied Charles Heintz chard), hints of malo, honeyed-mango. Not extremely acidic and does well at pop and pour. — 7 years ago
Very nice overall but if I’m being honest a bit under expectations. Aromatically brilliant, with dark petal flowers and earth and a bit of sweet dark red fruit. Just before the finish the palate falls apart a bit - just missing that extra gear. Still an excellent pairing with the steak in the background (prime dry aged rib eye from Hudson and Charles). Decanted for 2 hours but not sure it made a huge difference, didn’t change much in the glass. — 5 years ago

Sleeper. Insider wine right here. About to go extinct because ain’t nobody giving this the respect it deserves. Fuck it, I’ll be singing the praises of this wine for the many cases ahead to be drank. — 6 years ago
L’ho trovato al supermercato a Marfa in Texas. Il produtotore e’ famoso. Merlo e’ popolare da Washington anche. E’ equillibrato molto e facile di bere. Sarebbe un’optizione per vini casuali. — 7 years ago
Extraordinary Chardonnay. No oak/butter, beautiful fruit and just a little spice. I need more. — 7 years ago
What a Friday group tasting put on by Dan! Killer wines. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 5 reds, 1 dessert. All blind.
As soon as I smelt this, my guess was a young Charles Heintz Vineyard Chardonnay. It always has such a tropical nose, dominant of guava and papaya...so different from other west coast Chardonnays. I ended up guessing the vineyard correct ✔️. — 8 years ago

Classic California chardonnay without the oakiness. There is a good balance here and the wine really bursts with flavor when tasted with food. — 4 years ago
