Well endowed with high end oak influence but a nuanced balanced character, great acidity and a saline infused almost hint of petrol minerality
Great youthful chard — 9 years ago
Wow! As a sauvignon blanc lover, chardonnay is usually not one of my first choices. The crisp citrus mineral flavor of a Marlborough sauvignon blanc is my flavor, but this chardonnay is like a beautiful cross between a crisp Marlborough and a little butter. Or, maybe like a French white Bordeaux and a California chard. Try it to see. Very reasonably priced too — 10 years ago
Hard to tell if this saw any oak. Bright and vibrant leaner style Chard. — 10 years ago
2009 - Wow.... Just when Cali wines were starting to bore me, this came along with a crazy long finish. Can't imagine a better chard than this. Full bodied and well integrated oak with a little vanilla. Great honeysuckle and fruit. The acidity is at a perfect place; creates structure, but isn't searing. Wonderful. Ready to drink now, but no rush. — 11 years ago
Look what we found in the cellar. Nice little chard. Nice job, Lioco! — 11 years ago
Awesome napa chard — 12 years ago
Does it get any better than Peter Michael Chard? I think not. And for the 2008s - none are bad but this one is at or near the top. — 12 years ago
Scholium project 2012 intern harvest party, wine 8. Really good! Much in common with the amazing Ganevat. — 13 years ago
I think that there is some bottle variation here. Last week I had the luck to try this wine, and two weeks in a row I had the chance to try this wine again. This bottle was not as 'elegant' as the last bottle. There was less fruit, less acidity, less oak......compared to a Kistler Chard Dutton of the same year, this one lost the battle IMO, although I think it was a 50/50 split for those who tried it. I think that I was expecting this one to be as roundedd as the bottle that we tried last week, and this one simply didn't hoild up the same way. Good notes, definitely more of a pineapple but really without that citrus bite. Overripe honeydew and mango are more the note here. Not as much minerality, not as 'dried' on the finish. Nice wine....wouldn't kick it out of bed for sure. But if you have some of these, it's time to start poppin' some corks! — 8 years ago

We had the 2012 Vintage on 12/28-29/16. What a great chard with tastes of Meyer lemon, pineapple and vanilla. Smooth finish with no bite. — 9 years ago

Well balanced. A perfect example of what California chard should taste like. — 8 years ago
Lovely creamy chard, from berry bros & rudd hk — 8 years ago
The back of the label reads "what I dream of is an art of balance" and superior balance is what they have achieved. Nose is ripe and rich, with new aromas on every sip. Lemon curd on warm brioche, backing minerality and traces of vanilla & white florals. Palate shows laces of malo, adding a rich velvety aspect to the firm acidity and ripe fruit. Extremely savory and refreshing. Favorite CA chard. — 9 years ago
Almost forgot what a delightful chard they make! — 10 years ago
solid California chard. Not too over the top, with the right amount of richness and acidity. I'm down. — 11 years ago
Great chard — 11 years ago
Great Chard - every time I have a Ceritas, I wonder why I don't drink them more often. Good acidity, with a whisper of pear and lime. — 11 years ago

This wine is right at the top of the hill and ready to kick some butt. Perfectly balanced, rounded edges, stoneground fruit nose and front. Much more minerality here, some butter but the "buttah score" is probably 2/10 on this wine. The middle is rather dense, rich, full. Slightly underripe mango. Finished with a nice stone ground minerality. What a perfectly weighted chard!! Best white wine of the night without question, although a 2012 Condrieu Viognier seemed like it was 'on deck' as I was leaving therefore this one could have outdone this one, but if it did, it couldn't have been a runaway difference. This one has 5-7 years additional, so the 2015-2023 drink window suggested by CT is rather solid and right on the money. — 8 years ago
