Chapel Hill Heavenly Wines

Conti Sertoli Salis

Canua Sforzato Di Valtellina Nebbiolo

Perfectly ready to drink and enjoy, and I am:)! Pairing with a Sicilian styled calamari @ Il Palio, in Chapel Hill, NC. Beautiful antique-esque nose with lots of red fruit on first blush properly cut with well-worn tannins, acidity, etc. lingering into a long unctuous finish. Good stuff! Go for it..:)! — 11 years ago

This wine is really showing nicely opening up as the night goes on with a good amount of cigar box spice black earth 3/4 red mountain fruit but it changes every year both have red willow merlot far western Yakima I'm he foothills the sours are the omers and they built a chapel on the hill and buried a bottle of hermitage there in honor of the oldest Syrah vineyard in Washington — 12 years ago

Viña Sastre (Bodegas Hermanos Sastre)

Gran Reserva Pago de Santa Cruz Ribera del Duero Tempranillo Blend 1996

A 96 holding up well! Lots of spice on the nose with a blueberry/blackberry first blush that I hoped would continue, but, I think, over time, the long finish has seen better days (missing the drift). Nonetheless less, this delicious wine is complimenting my calamari pomodoro at Il Palio, in Chapel Hill, NC, at the Sienna Hotel (now a Marriott Autograph property). Good wine, great vibe, cool people..:)! Special thanks to Rachel behind the bar! — 11 years ago

Clos Sainte Anne

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

A delicious and affordable pomerol, very well balanced and drinkable on first pour. Its nose captures hints at it's early homes (farm & cask). Goes super well with mushrooms served up in a scallop broth @ Bin 54, in Chapel Hill, which is a favorite of mine and a rather perfect steak house not to be missed! Cheers — 12 years ago
