We made 2 mistakes with this wine: drinking it too young and not giving it more time to air. A couple of hours decanting would have been ideal. The wine cannot be faulted for either of those! At 8 years this tasted young at first and needed a good 4 days open in bottle with a stopper to fully open. Once open it was quite nice: good dark fruit, touch of earth, eucalyptus, and good black pepper spice. Carmenere is such a good grape. Yum. — 6 years ago
