One of the classiest Chardonnays in all of California. When you have an AVA named after you, you know you did it right. (Yes I know it's the mountains nearby...) — 9 years ago
We really enjoyed this Pinot — 10 years ago

This Grenache from way up high on Chalone was great in the tasting room and beautiful at home. Love the fruit in this wine. — 8 years ago
Blackberry jam, currant flavors, visibly aged, very dark, some light chocolate flavors. Rich like a Cabernet Sauvignon. 2007. — 9 years ago
A bit simple upon opening but turned into something special after a few hours. — 10 years ago
Great for an everyday wine when it is hot. Smells of green apple and honey, but relaxes quick with a non oaky buttery finish. — 10 years ago
Nice mature red fruit. Very tasty. — 10 years ago
Light oak, nice fruit hint of butterscotch accessible. — 11 years ago
Delicious. Nice body, warm and round with very little acid. Citrus, honey, minerals, and just enough oak to smooth it out. — 12 years ago
Minerals, dry, great w seafood. Would like to try w oysters. — 12 years ago
Nose is cherry pie, strawberry and cranberry. On the palate is more strawberry and cranberry with clove and cinnamon overlaying an earthy mineral backbone. It drops off slightly in the finish, but this is a well rounded, medium bodied Pinot with excellent bang for the buck. — 8 years ago

Surprise favorite of a Chenin blanc tasting, haven't had a current vintage Chalone wine in years, not since working for Acacia when it was still owned by Chalone. This wine had killer acid, varietal character, just enough richness. Can imagine this wine is a favorite of the production team at the winery--often these tiny production side wines are the most individual and exciting, less pressure and expectations. (I need to try the other Chalone wines and see what they are doing these days.) — 9 years ago

Smoked citrus and crushed rock on the nose. Underripe fruit, limestone and wood on the palate that comes across with great balance. High quality wine given the price point. — 7 years ago
