Right wine, right place, right food (fried carp at Relais d'Istria). — 10 years ago
Light bodied and fresh, obviously young but has mature sensibility already. Solid acidity and subtle berries over top. I think the dull tartness will dissipate with some more aging. This is one of two options at the Relais De Entrecote in Paris (the other is 'house'). — 10 years ago

Always a strong choice for a night out at a fine Relais and Chateau restaurant. It cuts across many different cuisines with its balance and elegance. — 9 years ago

Crisp Rose to go with our steak dinner in Paris @ Le Relais de L'Entrecote. Great simple wine which won't over power any meal. Very enjoyable. — 11 years ago
Own this? Hide it for 10 years. There is so much going on in the nose - leather, camphor, winter baking spiced and lots and lots of pepper - to name a few. Nose blows you away but it was too busy in mouth
Perhaps a long decant would have helped
Indeed - after 24 + hours open but corked, the elements had melded well
Bought at Derniere Goutte in 6e, enjoyed at Relais Christine. Good shop for organic and biodynamic wines - across from great caramel maker — 11 years ago

From the wine list at bistro at Relais St Germain in Paris. Magnum popped and poured. Good drinker for a nice seating outside on a beautiful Paris night in April. — 10 years ago
One of chef de cave Geoffroy's favorite vintages, but not mine. The heat of the year and lack of Chardonnay makes for a flatter than expected Champagne. At The Relais & Chateau vertical of Dom Perignon with chef de cave Richard Geoffroy. — 10 years ago
Another delicious wine served at the recent Relais & Chateaux 60th anniversary dinner at Addison with Guest Chef Claude Bosi from London. — 11 years ago

I'm going high on this one. Up front is a lot of big fruit with all kinds of cherry, red, black, and dried. But it's complex, with apple, strawberry and much else mixed in. Acidity is high, but just right to balance the fruit. There is moderate stony minerality and herbal notes here and there. Tannins are very restrained and this is a light and approachable wine. It gets more complex as it airs. I think it would be very good with charcuterie and sausages. I had it with a shrimp and sausage etouffe. It has enough fruit to stand up to strong flavors and enough acidity to cut through rich food. This comes from a very northern planting of Pinot, and it's an unusual and interesting wine. Shout out to the folks at Wine Poste in the Bishop Arts District for stocking this and putting it in a tasting. — 9 years ago
