The priciest Ribera Sacra Ive had to date, & probably most subtle. Still, a potent acid backbone along with what always seems to me finely grained tannins (in Ribera reds). Paired nicely w fantastic eggplant parmigiana, less cheesy & mire oniony. Would be curious how these wines age. 2014 — 8 years ago
Little mire peppery than pinot noir — 11 years ago

Such a surprise. Very clean fruit forward. Clean. Mire American style than French. — 8 years ago
This 2008 had nice fruit and stood up perfectly to our mixed grill. Wish I had mire! — 10 years ago
Australia's premium Shiraz Viognier blend and Tim Kirk says this is the best one he has ever made. I have been buying since the 2001 vintage. This is a cracking cool climate Shiraz blend showing florals Spice and a hint of pepper. Palate is restrained - more the weight of Pinot than Shiraz. Intensity without weight- Fluid, beautiful finishing with fine persistent tannins- 15 years stretching ahead of it. More whole bunch than the early vintages like many Aussie Shiraz producers these days. David Le Mire MW said whole bunch serves to lower the alcohol and increase the pH. Gives a "Tea" character with Stem tannins adding to the finish. — 8 years ago
Always excellent but this fell a little short of the awesomeness I expect. Might need a few mire years of maturing — 9 years ago
2006 Outpost Cab. Delicious and nicely aged. Many mire years in the one but quite enjoyable now. — 10 years ago

Pronounced, funky ass aromas of rubber and animal and mud, with the bright gamay fruit lurking under it. The fruit takes over on the palate—tart, bright raspberries and cherries, with the barnyard notes coming on the finish. High acid, mire tannin than I think of for gamay, long finish, intensely flavored. This is yet another neat wine from an always interesting winemaker — 7 years ago
