For under $15, this Corsican gem is terrific! 30% Nielluccio (Sangiovese clone?), 30% Grenache, 15% Sciaccarellu, 15% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre, 5% Carignan. Dusty tannins and surprising acidity with deep red and blue fruit, leather, and game. In fact, one of the best wines I've ever had in this price range! Imported by Kermit Lynch. — 10 years ago

Kermit Lynch has long been a favorite producer of mine, and this refreshing white from the Veneto is an affable blend of Garganega, Trebbiano Toscano, Sauvingon Bianco, Chardonnay and Saorin. Post fermentation, this wine sees regular battonage, a technique of stirring the lees, which adds richness and texture. On the nose, ripe pear, white flowers, anise and minerally overtones. Medium-bodied, yet nimble at 12.5% ABV, with notes of wet stone, lemon zest and chalk on a medium-plus finish. — 9 years ago

2011 vintage. Spectacular wine that is really still getting better. Pale golden hue. Grapefruit, grassy, white blossom, honeysuckle, mineral and appetising. On the palate, medium body and medium plus acidity which gives a lemon zesty note to the wine. The mineral character is more apparent and there's a green pea note too.
