Très beau pomerol d'un millésime exceptionnel. Commence à se révéler après 8h de carafe. On a une belle bouffée fleurale au nez, un mauve profond pour la robe et des jambes à ne plus finir. Pour l'avoir goûter tout au long de la journée je l'ai vu se révéler peu à peu sur des notes de mûres et des tanin bien présent. Il est encore très jeune mais ferait un bel ajout à une cave bordelaise! — 8 years ago

I don't typically buy / have anything to do with Louis Latour wines, but this was a quite generous gift. This showed impressively at first, but then the finish seemed to fall apart after a couple hours open and become disjointed a bit; a layer of lemon over here; some acidity here; some wood spice oaky layers in this corner over here somewhere behind a vaguely Meursault-like salinity. If only these heavily-etched elements could integrate somehow. Maybe with time this will happen to this wine. I'm not going to complain given the price I paid, but hey, something about the Louis Latour brand seems a bit mass-produced and flaky. Gets fresh fishy, saccharine and minty. Perhaps I am being unfair because of my skepticism vis à vis the Latour brand. Although, in 08, if you can't put together a marvelous 1er cru Puligny you just gotta pack your bags, I'd think. — 10 years ago
