Château La Grave Figeac

Château de la Grave

Grains Fins Côtes de Bourg Sémillon Colombard 2019

Nose of lemon and some spice. This is discreet and fresh. The palate is very well designed with a strong acid drive, a good tension, a nice width and some weight on the sides,a good grip, almost a chalky mouthfeel. A very long finish with refreshing citrus note and the same spices. This is great! More of that! — 5 years ago

Château Petit-Figeac

Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2012

Nice Merlot from Saint Emilion. A little youthful but amazing ripe fruit, French oak, and smooth finish. I would hold for a while. I was curious to see how it was developing. — 8 years ago

Nuit Grave Coteaux du Languedoc Les Terrasses du Larzac Red Rhone Blend 2010

A bit closed at the moment. Remember tasting this at the domaine a few years ago and it was great. Will need a few more years to come around again. Tannin and acidity to last! — 10 years ago

Château Yon-Figeac

Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend

Great vintage. Needs an hour to breath. Very well balanced. Full bodied. Smokey, leather, coffee, pepper, soy... brilliant!! This wine has all the right components to last another 10 years at least. — 9 years ago

What's the vintage?

Friuli Grave Sauvignon Blanc

It is not a Sancerre, but it is a delightful sauvignon blanc. Some fruit and nutlike favors are evident. My wife and I enjoyed it with steelhead (salmon trout) and roast potatoes. We were particularly pleased to discover it was 12% alcohol, which we find does better with food than the higher Sauvignon Blancs from the New World. — 9 years ago

I rated this excellent Bordeaux before. This is what a Bordeaux should taste like. Great wine and very consistent in quality from year to year. Enjoy with beef, veal, pasta & other light fare. — 6 years ago

This 2015 is a great value. A little thin mid palate, but a very good bordeaux representation for around $20 USD — 7 years ago

Friuli Grave Pinot Grigio

This wine was great, a little more than the usual Pinot Grigio. A well balance wine, not too tart, a hint of pear but not fruity. Overall one of my favorite PGs. Great end of summer wine, for when you want something light, but with enough body to keep things interesting. — 8 years ago

I don't often drink white wine, but when I do I prefer Pinot.

(Or really, a good Chardonnay but this was good too)
