2019 vintage. Last tasted 07.30.23 (9.5). Good lord. This is still (unsurprisingly) effing ridiculous. Explosive and giving without being compliant. Every time tasting this, attempt to renounce Cabernet Sauvignon/BDX blends forever. Hopefully someday, I'll make it stick. 02.28.25. — 4 months ago
I can’t get over this wine! The first word that comes to mind is luscious!! Ripe peaches and pear, smoke, pineapple, chamomile, tree bark and limestone. I need a case and now I can’t find it - should’ve bought more!!! — 6 months ago
Popped and poured, enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2021 pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of yellow apple, peach, honeysuckle, squishy, pineapple, clove. On the palate, the wine is dry, but showing significant fruit. So much so that it almost gives the impression of being off-dry. Acid is medium. Confirming the notes from the nose where the honeysuckle note is crazy powerful. The finish is long and there’s a slightly oily texture. A great, young Chave Blanc with a very bright future. Drink now with patience to allow it to open and drink through 2046+. Bottle 05182

2019 vintage. Last tasted 08.19.23 (9.5). Still medium heavy-heavy bod. Plushy nose, aggressively undying flavors and brick + mortar structure. Comparable to what it must have been like to see Mozart live back in that day. Confusing. Pure. Beyond mortal comprehension. "It's getting better all the time." 03.08.25. — 4 months ago
Best of the night…. $26…. It should be drank now — 4 months ago
Lovely aromatics of earth, smoke and redfruits, very solid core of dried red berry and super savory flavors, still great balancing acidity, a little less of the rustic notes in this one compared to the 1985 Verset from last Saturday, long, lingering finish, another great Verset Cornas!! — 6 months ago

Dark berries, violets, forest floor and pepper leap from the glass. Blackberry bramble, leather, plum and roasted meat fills out the palate. The 2013 is still pretty tight - I'd say should really come into its prime in 2019-2020. — 8 years ago
Dark fruit. Bacon. Delicious. — 12 years ago

I was going through my La Chapelle section today and my eyes got stuck on this 1999 - bottle looked absolutely pristine and I decided it was a perfect age to drink. Cork was in great condition and the wine was powerful and youthful with no signs of oxidation. Could have kept the bottle for a few more years, but it was probably perfect today. All the complex leathery earthy goodness you expect from this wine was there. — 3 months ago
