Stark contrast to the 95 Ducru. This is massive, dark fruit, tobacco, funk on the nose and body, very grippy tannins with a long long finish. — 9 years ago
Amber tawny color, dark but translucent. Aromatic nose with notes of raspberry, rhubarb, Asian spice, moist earth and a little menthol. Great fruit with structure to match, but slightly short of the emotion of the 82 Ducru sitting next to it. Still, this is a great wine. Love the Arnoux Suchots. UPDATE: with more air (open 5* hours) this blossoms in a bigger way. Huge nose and crazy burg funk. — 6 years ago
house with which I'm not familiar, now a part of Croix de Beaucaillou. At any rate, quite attractively evolved. #saintjulien #Bordeaux — 8 years ago
Dinner at Christophe Coperet's house. He opened some delicious bottles:
Champagne Tarlant - la matinale - 2003
Sauternes - Château Yquem - 1981 (this was ridiculously good)
St Julien - Château Branaire Ducru - 2008
St Julien - Château Talbot - 1998
St Julien - Château Beychevelle - 1988
Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "La Combe d'Orveau" - Domaine Henri Perrot Minot - 1998 (my favorite of the list)
Pouilly Fuisse - Domaine Corsin - 1998. — 8 years ago
Dang - one for Luders! Amazing cab blend! Never had- worth branching out for! I bet $ it was 2005 Ducru. — 10 years ago
Surprising tannin remains in this thirty year old tightly constructed claret. — 7 years ago
Still fresh and young looking and tasting. Elegant fruit with a a hint of chalk. Tasted much younger that Ducru Beaucaillou from same year. — 8 years ago
Very good - not much alcohol content left - no length - very watery - the Ducru is a better choice from the St Julien region in my opinion — 10 years ago

Expecting a bit more. Maybe needed more time in the bottle? — 6 years ago
