Surprisingly light. It starts with a floral overlay - it's there then dissipates into a light finish and then gone. Any easy drink — 12 years ago

Floral notes, lemon and grapefruit accents, acidic on its own if not allowed to breathe. — 8 months ago
Delicious, pear, citrus, juicy — 9 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of 90 minutes. The 2023 pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of tart and ripe, citrus and tropical, fruit: grapefruit, passionfruit, white and yellow flowers, alfalfa, jalapeño pepper, and flinty minerals . On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Drink now. — 10 months ago
Softer than many Sancerre rouges I’ve had, but still mineral driven. A very pretty version of Sancerre Pinot. — 6 years ago

2014, Joseph Mellot, La Chatellenie, Sancerre, Sauvignon Blanc. We had our last lunch at Joseph Mellot's restaurant in Sancerre. Excellent meal, great wine and a great view of the town square on a beautiful summer day. This wine takes me back to that day. Classic Sancerre: grapefruit, citrus, fresh cut hay, chalk and amazing acidity. — 10 years ago
Take a ride to funky town. Peppers and cream, body of a California Chardonnay with the headspace of Chablis and it's a Sauvignon Blanc! great minerality. — 11 years ago
Tart, slight grass. Excellent with sourdough and seafood — 12 years ago

Pascal et Nicolas Reverdy – Sancerre Rosé “Terre de Maimbray” 2016
Loire Valley, France 🇫🇷
Overview
From the limestone-rich slopes of Maimbray, Reverdy crafts this 100% Pinot Noir rosé, showing how Sancerre can shine not only in whites but also in elegant, age-worthy rosés. Though Sancerre is world-famous for Sauvignon Blanc, about 20% of its vineyards are planted to Pinot Noir, which can be vinified as red or rosé. This bottle demonstrates just how gracefully a Loire rosé can evolve with time.
Aromas & Flavors
Wild strawberry, raspberry, and redcurrant with rose petals and dried herbs. With age, subtle tones of candied orange peel and a light spice develop, adding dimension without overpowering.
Mouthfeel
Silky and rounded, with acidity still intact to keep it lively. Medium-bodied with a savory edge, balancing freshness and maturity.
Food Pairing
Perfect alongside charcuterie, grilled salmon, or roast chicken. The evolved texture also makes it a great partner for mushroom risotto or lentil dishes.
Verdict
A rare aged rosé that proves Pinot Noir from Sancerre can deliver both finesse and staying power. Still vibrant after 9 years, this wine highlights Reverdy’s skill and the region’s versatility beyond Sauvignon Blanc. — 8 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2019 “Les Romains” pours a bright, pale yellow color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of bright, tropical and citrus, fruits: grapefruit, starfruit, lemon; a touch grassy with fresh herbs and a whole lot of flint. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is long and a touch creamy. This bottle was absolutely bangin’! Drink now through 2029. — 9 months ago

Powerful and rich. Serious sap. Framed by good acidity on a mineral spine. And this was a mild leaker. — 12 years ago

Cute label. Color is pretty. Smells of the river rocks and berry compote. Hint of smoke. Flavors are juicy and complex. Plenty of minerals. Balance is great. Floral and fresh. — 7 months ago
