Earthy, rich, complex it was perfect timing to open the bottle - nice and mature tannins - even better to taste it on over Gigondas in the Dentelles de Montmirail — 11 years ago
Heard a bit too much about north Rhone today...so enjoying this on lamb chop night! — 12 years ago

This is massive and needs some air and a few days of being open. We'll revisit tomorrow. — 9 years ago
Special order Christmas dessert wine. Goes great with the Pud...much preferred to Sauternes — 10 years ago
One of our favourites! Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah. So week made you do not notice the 15%. But you DO notice the price. Afraid we cannot afford more. — 10 years ago
Very nice and full bodied cote du Rhone

Rhone does California. Big ripe fruit with just the right amount of funk, spice, and earth. Yum! — 14 years ago
Dark Ruby with sweet dark fruit aromas and herb spice, a blend of 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre. On the palate dark berry fruits with coffee & cacao on a dusty tannin structure. Lingering finish ending with herb notes. — 9 years ago
Plum and garrigue, medium body, soft lingering finish. Yes. — 11 years ago
Black pepper. Black fruit. Simply fantastic. I wish I had a case of this. There's no place like Rhone, there's no place like Rhone..... — 13 years ago

Terrific, full-bodied Wine from a classic Gigondas grower (Yves Cheron is the owner of Domaine Grand Montmirail). Irony, meaty nose with roasted herbs and blackberry extract. Bulky in the mouth, with rich, intensely minerally dark flavors. Long finish with youthful but soft tannin. Tad more acidity and this would have been off the charts. — 9 years ago
