Jean-Yves Peron is making some of the best natural wines I've ever tasted! Not only is he an incredibly entertaining man, he is super kind!! This 2004 mondeuse was beautiful with red fruits and lovely earthy undertones!! — 13 years ago
This Chavignol-based cuvée is very deep. Nose has just-ripe orchard fruit, with a fleeting tropical suggestion, an herbal/minty note, and a deep mineral stank, almost feral in nature. Deeply flavored too, it’s bone dry and full bodied, and while there’s an up-front bit of fruit, the huge minerality quickly takes charge. Medium acids. Another Chavignol geology seminar in a glass. — 9 months ago
Great cork & freshness, needs air to fully evaluate,
K&L notes as follows
This property was a Bill Blatch favorite-and as usual I have never visited the property which is located in Begadan. Château Vieux Robin is a family owned Cru Bourgeois estate located in Begadan at the far north of the Médoc. 5th generation owners Maryse and Didier Robin have made huge strides in terms of quality since they took over in 1988. Didier Robin, who learnt his trade at Château Clarke, is a skilled winemaker and now produces 4 different cuvées of ascending quality. There are only 18 hectares of vines and Vieux Robin is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. Old school Bordeaux with 12% alcohol. Over 20 years old and still lively and fresh. No fancy oak here-just good Merlot and Cabernet.

Jolie complexité sur un fruité juteux avec de très discrètes notes oxydatives, mineralité et rondeur. c'est efficace et juste — a year ago
Very classic Sancerre. Just ripe enough to avoid unpleasant greenness, there’s some fruit, but the terroir really shines through. Some gooseberry fruit but loads of wet limestone and a little Chablis-like brothiness even. In the mouth it’s relatively full, has good acids and great balance. — 3 years ago
Tasted blind. Medium gold, heavy. Great leesy lemon nose. Some honey and white stone too. Very tight, with Chablis-like intensity/acidity. Seems young. I go with 02 Raveneau MdT as a guess. Surprised to see an 89 in such great condition. I had/loved the 86 of this. Would love to find me some of this 89... — 6 years ago
Perusbordöö, juuri sellainen kuin klassisen hyvän bordöön olettaa olevankin, hyvä pöytäpunkku — 7 years ago
Very nice floral and fruity bouquet. Not as dry as I would’ve hoped but enjoyed thoroughly and will buy again. — 8 years ago
This particular year seems even better, superior body, color a touch sweet upon decor king what can I say, along with the food at Le Bilboquet a bliss! — 9 years ago
