Sottimano's 2012 Langhe Nebbiolo is a beauty. Freshly cut flowers, sweet red berries, cinnamon and mint are woven together in this refined, textured Nebbiolo bursting with pure class. Cherries, raspberries and rose petals linger on the expressive finish. (AG)

A true treat. Old. No effervescence. But has some cut and spine still. Long finish. A St. Francis hotel liquor store sticker on it. Drinking history. — 9 years ago
Sauvignon Blanc 2013 Marlborough- intense tropical fruit, passion fruit, citrus, stone fruit, and fresh cut grass notes. Light refreshing. Very springy, seafood pairing — 10 years ago
Continuing the 2011 extravaganza with this light Spatlese. That's right! I didn't get it wrong... It's a light Spat. Too powerful and sweet to be a kabi in my opinion, but as a Spat - Glorious! The tug and pull between sugar and acid is at a deadlock. Brilliantly balanced. The nose is spicy, herbal, floral, and very typical of Egon. The palate is crystalline. Like sucking on a piece of slate that was used to cut lime, then rubbed with mango and preserved lemons. To finish, take a bite of the juiciest peach, then lick some rock salt. The finale is long, smooth, and begs for you to take another swig. Gone in no time at all! — 5 years ago
1/5. Corkage at the Nomad. Medium /light gold. Slightly viscous. On the richer end of spectrum. Dried citrus, spice, not a ton of cut left. Not quite as persistent and long as the last time a tried this. But a very fine bottle nonetheless. Drink. — 6 years ago
Thanks @Jim Westby for packing this claret for our trip to Yosemite. We grilled up Fred Steak to pair with it, and this powerful, virile '93 had the power and cut for the rich, flavor y tri-tip. This wine has so much going for it- you have to wonder if they added some of another more famous vintage! — 7 years ago
Medium tawny but still intense in the center. In relatively good shape and still very lively with a tannic backbone to keep the wine structured. Edit — 8 years ago
Houlihan ' s on a half price wine night and Stags Leap, can't be beat. This an awesome wine and drinking a bottle for less than I can buy in the wine center is a delightful way to end a day. Try it. — 8 years ago
Excellent example of Napa Cab. Dark purple center with short watery meniscus. Fresh cut oak plank, orange blossom, dark plumb, raisin, vanilla, tobacco and tar. Tannic plus which required 2 hours decanting. Med acidity and long finish. — 8 years ago
100% concrete egg fermented, surprisingly creamy and rich. — 9 years ago

This is a new label and different fruit sources than used to use a step up — 10 years ago
The nose shows nice blue floral fruits. Ripe; blackberries, dark sweet & slightly sour cherries, creamy black raspberries, strawberries and soft plum. Limestone, volcanic minerals, light vanilla, fruit tea, soft, understated fresh tobacco, caramel, milk chocolate and fresh bright red and blue flowers.
The body is medium full. Tannins soft and tarry. Ripe; blackberries, dark cherries, creamy black raspberries, strawberries and soft plum. Limestone, volcanic minerals, crushed dry rock powder, soft dark spice, light vanilla, fruit tea, soft, understated fresh tobacco, used leather, wood shavings, caramel, milk chocolate and fresh bright red and blue flowers. The acidity is beautiful. The finish has to flush out but, it’s long, balanced and delicious. This will be a great Insignia. I’ll wait 15 years plus before I open my first bottle.
Photos of; their Estate vines of their terrace, terrace tasting area, more Insignia artwork from the visitor center and their signage as you walk to their Napa facility.
