The wine exhibits a similar timbre to a hi-hat in a mid-tempo jazz quartet performance. Brassy-gold in the glass, it shines as if polished. Velvet smoth mouthfeel drenched with ripe jonagold apple is sporadically interrupted by a sizzle of acidity laced with notes of lemon miringue. Pair with Thelonious Monk's "Underground". — 10 years ago
Beautiful brick color with amber rim. Strawberry leather, black cherry pits, barnyard, haystack. Low acidity, strong velcro tannin grip, long herbal/clay finish. Old school non interventionist winemaking aged underground in qvevri. — 10 years ago
We drank this at the Volcano Winery on the Big Island in Hawaii.
Our server said the wine was different than usual: probably because of an underground volcanic eruption! — 11 years ago
Earthy, with a hint of eucalypt. Magliocco wins the award for underground variety of the day. — 11 years ago
Full rich flavor, definite keeper — 12 years ago
Fruit-forward, detailed floral notes with a mineral, underground long finish. Dry, tight, fine bubbles. — 9 years ago
Surprised me! Rich, chewy wine with a great nose. My only negative was the amount of tannin left behind on the finish. I wonder if a little more age would help? This is a huge Red. — 10 years ago
Pleasantly surprised by the boldness! This is my new underground favorite. — 10 years ago
Very apple lead nose with white flowers, delicate palate, elegant with a nutty finish and great acidity. Aged underground to this end. — 11 years ago
Very particular wine, conserved into underground amphoras as in the ancient middle-East tradition of Georgia. To be decanted at least 1 hour and half before tasting... — 12 years ago
Amazing amphora wine! 16 months underground, whole cluster. Grüner Veltliner. — 13 years ago
Essentially the Cerasuolo but aged in clay pots underground. Pretty intense difference between the two. This is way soft and suple on the nose, but has some hilighted bitterness on the finish... I think that this should probably be decanted for some amount of time. — 9 years ago
A wine worth writing about. A hearty but delicate Pinot with dark rich berries. It's an underground all star. — 10 years ago
A special bottle from the wine underground. Aged to perfection. Dried figs on the nose, dense dried fruit, almond finish. Perfection and at its peak. — 10 years ago
@ Vino Underground in Tbilisi. 2010 Jakeli Saperavi. 14.2% ABV, but surprisingly well balanced. No oak but soft, integrated — 11 years ago
The winery is the equivalent of 18 stories tall. Underground, in a mountain. — 12 years ago

This is an underground stick-fighter in Rangpur. Fast on the attack with loooong, brutal 90+ second finish...it's the scotch of wine. — 9 years ago
