As a beverage manager I was seeking out a new BTG option that was a low-priced red which could pair with our fresh island fish plates. As soon as I tasted this I knew it was the one. Very bright red fruit, med-high acidity with herbal notes. I’m highly impressed by this CC 🤙 — 7 years ago
One of my favorites. Unless it's been properly store the 2007 vintage is about out of time. They need to do a reboot of this wine. — 8 years ago
Ain't nothing better than Rice-Spivak CC Pachyderm Pinot. Elegant, cherries, earthy with a hint of mocha. Smooth and so delicious! — 8 years ago
A powerful rendition of CC for sure, up front to the back the tension and power are very apparent. The wine has 3 distinct phases on the palate: the attack starts with fruit that is starting to fade into maturity, the middle is where the oak takes over, while the finish is the best part thrusting the energy of the wine deep into a long finish. If anything the oak is too aggressive while the slight oxidation tells me it's starting to descend from a peak. — 9 years ago
My first claypool (and happy it's a bottle Katy and Ross helped with!) Pobega'd this immediately and was still immediately hit with cherry fruit, but the palate is so refined despite having a heavier mouthfeel than you'd expect from the ruby color. (Note this is all based off the first 5minutes of drinking so take it all with a grain of salt.) — 10 years ago

Lovely champers - very enjoyable. — 7 years ago
Lots of plumy fruit flavors. Hints of cola and tobacco. A bit young but quite good for the price point. A little astringent alcohol on the finish, but bottle age should smooth that out. Excellent value for a CDP. Revisited in February 2020. As predicted, the astringency has mellowed out. Wine comes out of the bottle very fruit forward, but the organics come to the surface in short order. Thank you Keith S. — 7 years ago
Not as round and full as u would expect CC but not a throw away by any stretch if u eat w meal that stands up to the bell pepper acidity — 8 years ago

'98 Coche CC. Stunning. — 12 years ago
Fucking gorgeous, such value too. ‘15s are crushing it in CC. Perfumed, elegant, texturally silky, loads of class. Very upfront, immediate, not necessarily a wine of length. Minerality and finely textured tannin drive the wine, classic cherry, violet, and herbal tones of Sangiovese. Just love this wine every time I have it. — 7 years ago
Toasty pear. Tight bubbles, perfectly lovely with our mezze. — 8 years ago
Juicy red fruit and tangy acidity. #claypoolcellars — 9 years ago
Had called this the Dorian Gray of wine, kept getting more tannic and backwards with age...then boom, last night, a beautifully knit and rendered CC. Great aromatics, pipe tobacco, dark cherries. Tastes like a super T, sour cherry core wrapped in cedar, graphite. Loamy earth tones. Baking chocolate. Still has years to go. — 10 years ago
cuvée La Promesse, de vieux gamays. — 12 years ago

Sweet and obvious up front, but it picks up a ton of complexity and florality on the very long finish. Surprisingly excellent. — 6 years ago
