A 100% sangiovese grape wine this balanced is rare. A hidden gem in he heart of Tuscany this wine had a hint of tart flavor that mixed well with the beef tartare. I plan to drink the whole bottle before the first meal arrives. โ 7 years ago
Absolutely fantastic on point classic Chianti, still primary. Heady sour cherry fruit, a floral note, with undertones of mushroom, leather, sandalwood, black tea. Energetic bright acidity. Awesome, and likely better in 5 yrs โ 8 years ago
Another great white for lunch. Crisp and aromatic. Enjoying at Castello di Casole. A beauty in Toscana โ 8 years ago
Everything I look for in an affordable Italian. Cranberry, red cherry, orange zest with subtle notes of rhyme and almonds. PERFECT with a little homemade spaghetti. โ 9 years ago
Lithe and soft. Exceedingly soft with a nice burst of fruit on the midpalate. Moderate spice on the juicy finish. โ 9 years ago
Poggio San Polo Brunello Di Montalcino DOCG 2012: Medium body. Medium tannins. Classic Brunello color & attributes: Evolving red & dark fruits, tobacco, leather, herbs & spice; ending the a smooth pleasant finish. In summary, Brunello bottle four was a nice wine selection for its price point (great QPR!) but not as expressive as the other wines from earlier in the week! Have a great day! Cheers๐ท โ 4 years ago

Boca DOC 2010 Azienda Agricola Terrini. Nebbiolo, Vespolina e Uva rara. Three years in oak barrels. I had it with ravioli al plin with butter and black truffles (white not in season), culatello with grissini, and toma, with mom and dad. Good potential from Alto Piemonte โ 8 years ago
Not bad for the $10 price. I've had some DOC wines that were a lot worse. โ 8 years ago
On the nose bright red fruit and some forest floor / mushroom notes, flavor is cherry Popsicle - simple but striking and nice finish โ 9 years ago
With risotto in Milan Italy. Paired well. Light red. Good for cool evening with friends or date. โ 5 years ago

A top example of serious Lambrusco. Ancestral method released after 3 years in the bottle before disgorgment. Steak wine, or for meditation โ 9 years ago
Break out the banana bread! This has grains and tropical fruit in its youth. โ 9 years ago

Castello Romitorio Rosso Di Montalcino DOC 2018: Medium-bodied. Nice balanced tannins & acidity. Elegant nose. Bright red fruit flavors followed by herbs, tobacco, earth and a subtle touch of oak. The finish was smooth & lasting. Considering its age, this wine was intriguing, vibrant & fresh; a definite winner and that is why this RdM will be one of the wines offered tonight at the UHM wine fundraiser event.
PS: Can you tell weโre starting to get in the Halloween spirit. Cheers๐ท๐๐ป โ 4 years ago
