piculit neri from Friuli. love. — 10 years ago
Not too astringent for me, lotta booze on the nose but great berry flavors without overwhelming anything on the tongue. — 3 years ago
Visited this winery several years ago and I’m a huge fan of most of their wines. — 4 years ago

Interesting nose but excellent palate - Black pepper, cherry, woody, blackberry and very easy to drink - goes well with our Italian meal. — 6 years ago
Perfect for a hot summer evening. Sipping and waiting for a good friend for dinner. Been too long! — 7 years ago

Fruity and smooth. Really Delicious! — 8 years ago
Awesome Chianti. Vintner only makes 10,000 bottles a year so you have to go to the winery to buy it. — 9 years ago

I have a soft spot for this producer those amazing wine labels an economic price for an Italian wine in the South Pacific very shut down for a few hours then blossomed into free bright present Sangiovese fresh cherries bright colours and good acidity — 5 years ago
Love the bouquet of this one!! — 6 years ago
Delicious, get your nose into it! Opens up grande style, dirt, dry roots, eucalyptus, clay dust, cranberries. Smooth light tannins that sits heavy on the tongue and releases the flavor. Highly recommend, I would love to decant this next time! — 6 years ago
Interesting red from Emilio Bulfon. For those not familiar with this winery, his goal is to rescue old, nearly extinct Italian grape varietals and bring them back. Most of these grapes were common in Roman times, I believe, so these are pretty cool wines, geekily speaking. This one is pretty rich, but not quite as complete as the picolit neri riserva, which I think is his best. — 8 years ago
A perennial favorite dinner spot when the parents are in town. — 9 years ago
This is it: my favorite wine of the year (so far). Wonderfully oaky but balanced. Our server's suggestion. Now, if I could only find an importer. Summer 2013, Pisa. — 10 years ago

Enjoyed this somewhat exotic wine. Recommended by a sommelier at a wine shop. Apparently the grape was assumed extinct for 400 years until it was discovered growing on someone’s property in the 1980s. Taste is akin to a Nebbiolo. Blueberry and blackberry on the nose. Bright berries with balanced acidity and dryness. Would love to have again. — 2 years ago
