The Grapes of Immortality as Salvador Dali painted them -- this wine made by Dali's family friends from Penedes is not DO as it's made from Cab Sauv and Petite Syrah varieties. It is though a rich and well balanced fruity wine that is beginning to open up tertiary animal and mushroom aromas. Black currants and cherries lead, it is subtly oaked with spice and some lingering black pepper. Finish, tannins and acidity are medium though. My fruit lead style of red I like, lacks some complexity — 9 years ago
Lovely wine, rich in flavour. Vintage 2009. Plus: the vineyard is a great place to visit if you pass by Alicante/Valencia :) — 10 years ago
We brought this home from a trip to Spain in 2009. Wish we had a case, and only 12%. — 11 years ago
Vinho leve, ótimo para iniciantes. — 12 years ago
Maravilloso! Fresh, energetic, spirited. I drank this with someone whose name escapes me but who looked like Salvador Dali and I thought that was fitting for this. Red fruit, 'sweat dirt smell', pepper, violet. A little bit of stem in there too. Feels like when you lay down and remember you can imagine anything you like. — 8 years ago

— 11 years ago

Brilliant marketing and the wine is pretty damn good for $20. The producer is Field Recordings. The wine is Wonderwall. The source is Edna Valley. The varietal is Pinot Noir. And the label is Salvador Dali and his ocelot Babou. Sweet and sour cherry and rhubarb pie, with lots of tea and baking spice and an edge of salty, sandy Central Coast loam. — 7 years ago
