Nice big nose of cassis and other dark fruits, touch of oak and tar. Not nearly as port-ish as the Carvalhas. Considerable body and tannins, with more blackberry and other dark fruits. Nice bottle for the money for sure. — 11 years ago

A good bit of fruit; less plum and raisin up front than the Quinta Das Carvalhas, and a wee bit thin on the initial finish. Still, an excellent LBV. Darker fruit flavors come on as it warms. Actually coats the mouth nicely in the end. — 10 years ago
