Smooth abs fruity — 4 years ago
Nose: stone, pepper/spice, raw steak, not much fruit given the age
Taste: cranberries, floral/ violet, great body, medium tannins, great finish
Paired fantastic with roasted chicken dinner. — 5 years ago
Crisp flavorful wine. White wine for red wine lovers. — 6 years ago
Nose has sappy, ripe but slightly tart dark cherry, and a beautiful almost Burgundian gravel thing. A wee bit of baking spice. Tannic and youthful in the mouth. This needs a couple of years at least. Very Cotes de Nuits in style. Very nice length and a savory style. Was OK with Thanksgiving turkey, but the turkey accentuated the tannin. This needs beef (prime rib!) to shine. — 6 years ago
An amazing Rose of Grenache it has a flavor unfamiliar to all Rose wines. Interestingly this finishes with a hint of vanilla oak!!! — 8 years ago
I loved this one! Full bodied, aromatic, strong cherry notes. — 8 years ago
You would never know this is a Grenache by looking at it. The color of the wine is super light. But the flavor comes alive on the nose and palate. — 4 years ago
Simply smooth berry-full and delicious. A full bodies bit easily drinkable soft and fruity — 5 years ago
This is the 2016 OG. One of the best wines I have ever tasted. Very smooth. Some hint of berries. — 6 years ago
Our favorite Virginia winery! — 7 years ago
A wonderful wine that we enjoyed with our Christmas dinner that included some beef tenderloin. Not sure how they do it but Carter keeps cranking out wonderful cabs. — 3 years ago
Time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
This is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Tasty and spicy. Delicious and extracted. A very typical Cabernet for the region, but oh so yummy.
Dry and full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, earth, chocolates, tobacco, spices, graphite, dark coffee and peppercorn.
Very fruity on the palate and elegant. Well balanced with nice complexity.
Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime (3 hours).
I've heard many people trash the 2017 vintage in California. So far I've not seen that to be true, and this is a great example of that.
This 4 year old is still very young, and would age nicely in the next 10 to 20 years.
Good by itself or with food. Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats. I paired it with grilled Lamb chops.
14.9% alcohol by volume.
95 points.
$190 (current vintage). — 4 years ago
Drinking perfectly right now. Enjoyed with grilled pork chop and grilled veggies. — 5 years ago
A wonderfully blended wine. Well balanced fruit and spice. A great food wine. Paired well with teriyaki. — 6 years ago
Sweet but tart notes upon sipping with a spicy finish. Rich saplike quality throughout — 7 years ago
