Until this was bought for me recently, I had never heard of the Monastrell grape. A nice light wine with plummy flavours. — 9 years ago

Nice flavor and no after bite — 12 years ago
This extremely dark-tinted wine is dark on the nose and on the palate as well. Aromas of black fruit and oaky spice meet flavors of the same style, with earthy mineral notes underneath. It is undeniably a fruity wine, despite the heft and brawn that it brings. Tannins are tall and toothy, so get that grill fired up and throw a ribeye on it. — 8 years ago

2003, fruit was still a bit muted but that is my fault I really wanted a good Roja tonight. should have given this bottle another 10 yrs or so. plums and gravelly finish. Super balanced — 9 years ago
Killer wine. Love the Portuguese wines Bodega produces. Smooth tannins with rich varietal expression. Dorothy (the owner/winemaer) has crafted this wine in true Portuguese style from Cali fruit. Big props. — 10 years ago

Old vine sumoll and a little marselan. A little reductive at first, but quickly came into its own. Complex and rich, likeable. — 9 years ago

New world Tempranillo with texture, fruit, and spice as the stand out characteristics. Nose is just a bit muted with black fruit, white pepper, and wet black earth. Palate shows more red fruit notes along with baking spices and some plum. Medium everything except texture which is rich and mouthfilling. There's a slight mustard seed note on the medium + finish that is both very pleasant and very food-friendly. Amazing QPR on this wine. This is the 2008. — 10 years ago
