Interesting take on an international varietal by Swiss transplant to Etna, some black currant on the nose and spicy leather on the palate but no unicorns @Carson. Tannins give it a nice long finish. Not bad stuff. Unsure of QPR, since this was a gift from the vigniaolo to my wife. — 10 years ago

...to the "pros", as Carson used to say to Ed... "Don't try that with me Bozo"...this is another great Mueller Pinot, Russian River. 2016 was a good year for August Recher, another single vineyard. Great nose balance legs fruit fruit mouthful succulent palate rich...typical of the better (but still not best) Mueller's. — 7 years ago

Apparently this dynamic. blend of Aglianico, Cab, and Merlot was the Cats Pajamas in the 90s when Super Tuscans were all the rage - this is a big wine with spicy leather and firm tannins, will decant longer next time, may be a wedding gift @Carson — 9 years ago
