Inferno Riserva Sesto Canto Valtellina Superiore Nebbiolo 2013

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2013 Inferno Sesto Canto Riserva pours a luminous, pale garnet color with a transparent core. Medium+ viscosity and no staining of the tears. The nose is soaring out of the gate with remarkably pretty red fruit notes: strawberries, raspberries, cherries, red flowers, rocky earth and exotic spices. On the palate, medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and hugely satisfying. The 2013 Inferno Sesto Canto is inimitable in its purity and elegance. A wine of class. This was a beautiful pairing with risotto age shaved truffles. Drink now and through 2033. — 4 months ago

Moraia Toscana Cabernet Sauvignon Blend

Spectacular. Strawberry ice cream on the nose. Tart strawberries and cherries on the palate. Beautiful lingering finish with just right tannins. About to pair with roast lamb! Stand by for more! — 5 years ago

Bel Canto Cara Mia Vineyard Red Blend 2016

Have you baked fruit I’ve only slightly accompanied, bacon, spices, more like a little bit of juicy and fatty tannins that complement more than blend. Gives a good structure, so the whole thing doesn’t end up too jammy. Woods beyond oak like cedar, cigarbox, Cedar, Pinion-wood, things like that. A little bit of forest floor mushroom. — 5 months ago

Canto Sur Carménère Blend 2018

Very tasty and exciting blend. Herbal notes of Carmenere, sleekness of Carignan, dark savory notes of fig and raisin seed from 100yr old Pais. Drink now or hold 12-18 months.

Cara Mia Vineyard Camerata Cabernet Franc Blend 2015

This Cabernet dominant wine is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot sourced from the Cara Mia Vineyard on Red Mountain. The 2015 version is heavy on the Cabernet compared to other vintages. A little more approachable than the Bel Canto right now, you’ll still be rewarded for cellaring it. The palate shows wonderful black pepper, green bell pepper, a bit of crushed gravel, and after a bit of decanting, the blackberries express themselves as well. Strong mouth coating tannins finish off this bold effort nicely. Drink 2020-2040- 93 — 5 years ago
