The Sea Ridge Chardonnay is rich and ample all in the Martinelli style but well balanced. Lemon pie, custard, ripe melons and French oak. Not the most subtle wine but very good in its own right. — 7 years ago
Eclipse in the glass, yet not overly extracted. Cranberry, citrus rind and stewed cherries. Light, lively mouth feel showing soft tannins and acidity the pulls the checks to reveal rich flavors of cream, cut flowers and asian plum. Full bodied and layered well. Balanced oak for a spiced long finish. Less than 100 cases. — 9 years ago
Can you say: cherry bomb? — 9 years ago
Almost ripe cherries, boysenberries. Dusty medium tannins. Lovely wine. — 9 years ago
Hints of grape. Consistent. — 11 years ago
The medium ruby '00 Martinelli Pinot Noir 'Martinelli Vineyard Reserve' tingles the nose with muted aromas of red berries and cherries. Not overly heavy, the palate picks up subtle flavors of mocha and sweet spice. The wine is near the end of its peak drinking window, but still satisfies. — 12 years ago
Butterscotch notes. Really good. Drinking well now. — 7 years ago

Yes high alcohol but 30 min in the glass and it's beautiful and without complaints. — 8 years ago
Moms 60th wine from Rex — 8 years ago
Darker Ruby with aromas of big red fruits and slight spice. On the palate bold black cherry, blackberry and plum with rich tannins around some oak. Well balanced the fruit stays with this wine on a lingering finish. — 9 years ago

Buttery vivid exotic fruits and tons of Martinelli apples! — 11 years ago
Light in color and texture but also earthy flavors- very drinkable. — 7 years ago
Big, brawny, and more than a bit beefy. Dark purple with a nose of old cigars, bacon grease, and vanilla. Big ol' palate of smoked meat and white pepper. Tons of smoke, along with some dried herbs, and funky dirt. Not a lot of fruit here but you'll discover plums and black cherries eventually. The 15.5% puts out quite a bit of heat. Maybe too much heat. As tasty as this is, I'm not really getting Syrah so much. In the long run that doesn't matter because you should probably drink this. — 8 years ago
Wow! This was very much in the style of a northern Rhone, with herby aromas and flavors of bacon fat and minerals. It evolved nicely throughout the evening. What a balance between fruit and herbs! This went amazingly well with rosemary garlic rib eye. — 9 years ago
Ripe but has the body to age a few years. Bomb. — 9 years ago
Old World Winery #abouriou Reserve + Boxing Day #cassoulet. 4th generation California vintner Darek Trowbridge nurtures this wonderful grape from SW France in the Russian River Valley, first planted by his great grandfather Martinelli. — 9 years ago
I asked Martinelli for old world and they gave me this--right on! Yes with the meaty thing. Hi Regina! — 10 years ago
2010 Martinelli Lolita Ranch Chardonnay. Lemony and somewhat understated with vanilla and oak, but not too much of either. — 10 years ago
I'm impressed with the staying power of the '99 Martinelli Pinot Noir 'Three Colts'. Still powerful with earthy aromas of dark fruit, minerals and tobacco. Slow developing sweet cherry liqueur flavors gradually fade to a pleasant, but dry finish. — 12 years ago
