Going through the stash gladly quickened by Fung and this was another oldie — 10 months ago
Aged in 500 and 1000l tonneaux and botte. More complex but maintains the house style for Nebbiolo with a more skeletal presentation. About 30 days in skins and shows the slightly more rusty color thisb exteneded maceration might suggest Some might say delicate/aromatic and polished, I want a little more primary fruit. — 3 years ago
Pop and pour. Vinous note suggested early drinking, CT tasting notes suggest waiting. Split the difference? I was expecting a fruit-forward modern-styled barolo, and while this definitely leans modern, it is not over-the-top. In fact, quite charming at this stage. On the nose: classic blood orange, soft florals, but modern sandalwood inflections, with some dried strawberry secondary notes. On the palate: excellent acidity, bitter herbs, dried raspberry, dried sage, and soft plum. Serious tannin kicks in, but the finish is juicy enough that most food pairings will soften the tannic blow. Tipping the scales at a burly 14.5% ABV, but this is surprisingly nimble. I really enjoyed this... — 4 years ago

Had the 2023 in January of 2025. First sip out of the glass was strange. Kind of sour fruit, butter and wood. Gave it time to breathe and swirled in the glass and then it was really good. Light fruits- dark cherry and blackberry. Hints of wood and leather in the finish. I always tend to jump right in. Have a decanter but don’t always head to it based on other people’s comments, I probably should have! But time in the glass was kind. Was a very interesting wine that I would love to have again. — 10 months ago

Solid wine- dark cherry note; great aerated — 6 years ago
Very big and interesting on the nose, sometimes fruity, sometimes bloody and meaty. Elegant in the mouth with some initial dark fruit until the savoury elements take over for a long finish. — 7 years ago
A delicious young Nebbiolo from Cascina dell Rose — 9 months ago
Nice nose! Bright ruby color! Big flavor yet balanced! Subtle chocolate in this one. Very good. Tasty tasty. For those about to rock💥 — 2 years ago
A rush of ripe red berry fruits waft from the glass, as licorice, sweet spice, and rosy florals join the mix. Silky textures envelope the senses, finishing with saline minerals and youthful tannin. Wow this Emilia-Romagna Sangiovese is an unreal value. $17.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, May 2020) — 5 years ago
Super rich and tasty — 6 years ago
Tobacco, burnt ash, touch of cranberry with some VA at the beginning that blew off. Barolo is always impressive. 2 worlds in one. What you see is what you don’t get. This fits the bill. Good value as well. W/ ribeye, mushrooms, truffle oil. — 7 years ago
