This wine is actually California Chardonnay, made from grapes sourced in Monterey and Mendocino counties as well as Sonoma. The nose shows apricot and lemon pie, with a healthy dollop of oak spice. The oak comes through on the palate as well, in the form of some of the nicest “butter” I have tasted in a Chardonnay. Meyer lemon, pear and cantaloupe flavors also turn up. The acidity is quite nice and fresh, and the mouthfeel is full and rich. — 4 years ago
Nice light dry/semi dry white wine with slight fruity flavor — 8 years ago
This “Spinal Tap” wine takes it to 11! It is not the Cannonball which you see in the supermarket, but a more serious vintage with an actual cork. When the inestimable Ondine Chattan joined the Naked Wine collective, she brought an allotment of this wine with her.
This is an impressive cheaper cocktail wine, with bright berry and mocha flavors over a medium bodied tannic structure. At the offered price point, less than $20, it is a very good “sweet spot” wine.

2021. From the D&G website “The base is Testa Carignane (62%) and Rava Grüner Veltliner (21%) and the spice is a mix of Fenaughty Grenache Blanc (6%) & Vermentino (6%) and Cloud Chardonnay (5%).”
Their tasting notes are spot on, especially the fruit rollup 😄
“Delightful tart notes of Bing cherry, cranberry and red raspberry spill forward on the palette along with the zing of chewy fruit-rollups. Deeper in, a flinty, volcanic minerality balances and grounds this high-energy wine, while a creamy mouthfeel completes the enchantment.”

One of the most distinctive and flavorful Merlots I can remember tasting. Hint of oak in the nose. Earthy, full flavor and satisfying finish. Makes me want to visit the vineyard! — 8 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, deep Ruby red color with aromas of spice and cedar notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cherry and currants with dried herbs, cacao, pepper and spice with underlying gentle sweetness. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, toasty notes, and herb spice. Drink now! — 2 months ago
