This might be the richest Hochrain I've ever had. It's a wine that usually comes across more sharp and spinal than the Singerriedel, and if that's still the case the Singerriedel must be a monster this year. This is deep and golden though with some fresh spring green flavors almost like a gruner, though it's still cut like an icicle. It keeps its chilling refreshment value even at room temperature even though that leaves the fruit totally uncoiled and showing off the wine's huge scale, just a big round ball of riesling sizzle. — 9 years ago
Very drinkable but not too sweet. Light bodied. Got it at ball square. — 9 years ago
Thick. Luscious and got plenty of legs. Love this blend — 10 years ago

This is my new go-to. Full of flavor, robust, and just the right amount of hops. Plus brewed in MD. What more do you need?? — 10 years ago
Cannon River Winery's Sparkle Edelweiss was a big hit on Christmas Eve. Paired well with fresh shrimp fondue. This is a carbonated wine made from Minnesota Edelweiss grapes. Had a fruity snappiness to it. Great winery to visit in Cannon Falls MN! — 10 years ago

Great Shiraz 2004. Sweet red fruits balanced by a lovely savouriness. Plush mouthfeel and still some life ahead — 8 years ago
I think ball bag birr(!), is a wine innuendo too far for a classy wine producer. However, Château Potensac, does intrinsically have a certain 'potency' and 'hardihood' to it.
Many say 2003 is oft-over extracted. With much already passed its peak even, by the very nature of the year's excessive heat. But I found this bottle to be in a good (midlife) state. With the vintage's, most criticised, low acidity, still lively... a solid backbone as such, very much still on display; for many a fine wine for that matter, especially a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel.
Its primary and secondary aromas are very much alive too and its tertiary ones just hinting at what hands they will ultimately show. It benefitted from a good 1/2 hour decant too #wine — 8 years ago
Wonderful, dominated by sweet dark plums, but showed flashes of rosemary, smoked meats, before collapsing into the delicate ball of fruit streaks of graphite and a bitter balsamic finish. Very happy with a bottle I bought on sale. — 9 years ago
@Brad Ball saw your rating. Stop being so harsh. Good work here. Sangiovese is good here — 9 years ago
Smooth finish .. Great with spicy veggie ball curry! — 9 years ago
Great length, smoked meat and tennis ball can on the noise, . High oak tannins — 10 years ago
A little sweetness in this smooth drinking red blend. Very good wines that I only rarely get when driving by Dahlgren as this winery only sells on their estate. — 10 years ago
A ripe nose of red fruit and spice. In the mouth a ball of red fruit and cinnamon. A moderate finish with soft tannin. Put on weight in the decanter but tightened up. Not sure this will go the distance. — 10 years ago
After a hard fought day at the ball diamonds, I was able to share this bottle of Sauv Blanc on the deck with Kristen, and enjoy the taste of victory :) #yegwine — 12 years ago
