A big bold plumy purple bomb As dense and luscious as a wine can get in a glass. Decanted for 2 hrs and its still a baby with blackberry, dark chocolate licorice and pepper on the nose and on the palate. A long long finish and loads of tannins to sum it all up — 6 years ago
This stuff was freakin' awesome. Glassy, ruby red you can read through yet full. Levitates on the palate. Elegant tannins. Black fruit. Overall smooth, lush mouthful with sticky, earthy finish. Awesome. WBA $89 at Public Services — 8 years ago
Looks older than it actually is with its slightly tawny colour. Beautiful on the nose with a bouquet of crushed berries and Earth. Medium bodied with well-integrated tannins, but the finish can be longer. — 9 years ago
Incredibly full and balanced. Loved it. — 9 years ago
Classic Olga and Can Franc. Balanced with a hint of blackberry. — 10 years ago
Clear deep purple colour with watery rim. Clean medium intensity aroma with minty black cherry and black currant with hint of oak smokiness and vanilla. Dry on the palate full bodied medium alcohol with medium acidity and high but smooth velvety tannin. Flavours of earthy black currant, black cherry, and vanilla. Flavours last through into its long pleasant finish. Very good quality, drink now but can age for another 3 to 5 years for a even more balanced complexity. — 11 years ago
Yes! A great representation of what can become of gamay from a Cru village wine. The typical esters are there on the nose but the overall fruit and some darker tertiary flavours are present. A bit light on the palate despite the 14% but this is made up for by the long delicate spicy-flowery finish. — 5 years ago
Had two bottles of these to serve at a dinner for my daughter’s 21st birthday. They were wonderful wines, still lively and with plenty of full mouth for its 21 year age. But it also had that long finish of earth and dark cherry pit that well aged Bordeaux can have. It was enjoyed by all present. — 6 years ago
Tasting the new 2015 today, while very brooding and quiet at first pour, you can see the huge potential. I am a big fan of Dominus with age and given the makings of this 2015, I can see this joining the ranks of some of the greatest vintages of Dominus...in time, lots and lots of time. — 7 years ago
Balanced; not harsh like some Riojas can be. Served with tapas of course — 7 years ago
Smooth finish, love this addition from Mondavi. Can taste the hint of bourbon — 8 years ago
Outstanding! There is the perfect moment for a bottle to be opened and tonight was it. It was the wine equivalent of a album that you can listen to from start to finish. — 9 years ago
Spectacular! Mind blowing. One of my top 10 of all time. On every serious wine lover’s bucket list, and here we had a nigh perfect bottle. While aromatically a little recalcitrant, you still got some of the Margaux violets and potpourri on the nose, hints of clove, all trying to shake off their doldrums. But on the palate, it was timelessly ravishing. The finesse, richness, balance and smoothness, with an underlying, almost flabbergasting mixture of complexity and delicacy, was just astonishing. The finish is marvelously sweet and intense, with chocolate and cassis and utterly seamless tannins. This is a miracle of wine making and an exaltation of vintage and terroir besides. Wow! And bravo! We can only pray for an encore of such a wine. — 9 years ago
I was disappointed with my last Caymus Special Selection vintage, but this beauty brought me back to a bottle that won Wine Spectator's #1 Wine of the Year ... Twice!! Incredible fruit and balance. This can be cellared and enjoyed for years to come. Cheers!! — 10 years ago
Not a typical cab. Easy for a beginning can drinker. Bit pricey, but good. — 11 years ago
Half bottle. $45.48 @ Total Wine. rich, full bodied, spicy, concentrated and elegant Bordeaux wine. balance between power and refinement. 2014 was ready to drink, not very tannic! Second growth. Def get this again. Les Tourelles de Longueville is their second wine if I can ever find to try. — 5 years ago
Dark purple plum skin color from center to the rim’s edge where some scarlet also appears. Opaque. Great fruit forward nose that grabs your attention. Notes of blackberries, ripe plums, violets, tobacco, forest floor and some crushed walnuts. Rich and silky in the mouth. Great balance and texture. Tannins perfectly integrated. Long finish. If a Cal Cab can be seductive, this is it. Still youthful but in a great zone tonight. — 7 years ago

Funky at first but subsequently blown away. Fresh, leathery, flowery, with some structure. Can tell it was once a great bottling. A bit long over due. — 9 years ago
Tart cherries, smokey, and really high acid upon opening. Need to give this some time before final conclusion. But a lot to like here. I can see this could easily age for a long time. After a few hours, still quite bright and tart. But has a softer feel. Quite delicious. — 9 years ago
Unreal, soft fruit. Still new, can only imagine in 5-10 more years — 9 years ago
Amazing. I will buy as many as I can. — 10 years ago
Drink it again — 10 years ago
A fav that I can find at most west coast whole foods — 11 years ago

Dark berry everything, licorice, and earthy aromas. Nice body and smooth as can be. You won’t be disappointed with this very nice Bordeaux from St. Julien. Glad I have a few more bottles to let age. — 4 years ago
