5/2025. Great wine. Bold, full of flavor and feels hop to drink. Dark in color. Good legs. Paired very well with my favorite dry aged ribeye at Hall’s Chophouse. — 2 months ago

Good nose. Coats the palate well with good balance. Lasting finish. — 10 days ago
Still quite primary darkfruit aromas and flavors, moderately harsh tannins as well, for me, typical of the early to mid-1980s Montelena Cabernets that had some harsh, tannic edges, should live for 10+ years easily, but I doubt it will ever be charming, solid Napa Cabernets that had, and should pair nicely with some New Zealand farm-raised medallions of venison I’m about to grill. — a month ago
Bigger deeper notes for a Zin with coffee, blackberry, and leather. Some stronger tannins but not a total alcohol bomb at 14.3% — 2 months ago

Jack and Jamie Davies revived the historic vineyards and cellars in 1965. Today, their son Hugh, continues their mission. 100% Chardonnay pale straw color with aromas of stone fruits, floral and citrus notes. A terrific crisp sparkler with crisp apple, peach and lemon flavors, fine mousse with tiny bubbles. Tangy acidity on a long finish ending with a yeasty creamy character. Nice! — 3 months ago

Pristine bottle so much power and life left and still fruit definition. Drinks like first growth Pauillac. What a special era for Napa wine. — 14 hours ago
