Tart. Bold, fruity + pepper. Perfect for the last night at cabin in the woods. ♥️ — 6 years ago
Had the privilege of meeting Eric Jensen last night and barrel tasting his wines. Upon finishing, he offered us his cabin in the vineyard to spend the night. Woke up this morning in the middle of 60 planted acres with a thick fog blanketing the roiling hills. Heaven. — 8 years ago
Bought at a cool little combination vintage clothing shop/natural wine store in Tallinn. Super hip, I know; sue me. Natural Loire Valley (this is VdF but I'm pretty sure this producer is located in Touraine and I'm guessing the grapes are at least mostly sourced from there as well) rosé bubbles consisting of a blend of Grolleau and Cab Franc. Semi-sparkling/frizzante. Unfiltered, a quite small amount of sediment is visible floating in the bottle. Not sure whether or not this qualifies as a pet-nat since the production method isn't totally clear from bottle info but it fits the character of one regardless of production method. A bit funky but delightfully so and its not over the top at all. Slightly unripe wild raspberry and strawberry, some funky yeastiness that's almost lager-esque (also pours like a beer as well in terms of bubble texture/level of carbonation), a tiny bit of heavy cream, and wet granite and quartz stones, not unlike the stone of the beach of the island we just left (Hitis in the Finnish archipelago) where we spent a few days at my favorite place on earth, my family's shared summer cabin. Overall, somewhat like a sour beer in overall character, in a really cool way. Med. (+) acidity keeps it juicy and fresh. Super yummy. Great pizza wine. — 9 years ago
It pays to socialize with the sales reps from time to time, never know what they might leave you with.
This has a big nose with milk chocolate, some mint and cocoa wiffs, as well as airline cabin and chalk (?!). Keep in mind I have been tasting this on and off since about 2:45pm and it was opened around 11 am I think.
Im told 07 was awesome for Brunello and Amarone, this proves that it is. It matches flavor and feel perfectly. I could drink this forever.
It's rich, semi-dense. So powerful. This stuff makes me very happy. All I need now is a pot roast to go along with it.

Just concluded our annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.
Nose has cold oak, yeasty bread dough, yellow apple flesh and cold limestone.
Palate has chalk dust on yellow apple, saline minerality and cold bread dough.
Medium-short finish, but quite pleasant on the nose. — 6 years ago

Winter Cabin Weekend 2017. — 8 years ago
Wow, super jammy upfront for a Cab, and a '14 besides. Opens nicely in the glass though. Enjoying at the cabin in Pinetop - where its a brisk 26°F! — 9 years ago
Mango, Apple, hints of grass, lightly oaked. A warm summer day in a northern cabin. — 9 years ago
"Opened 90 minutes prior to drinking to allow it to breath. Nice medium red color with a bit of bricking on the rim. Nose seemed tight at first, but started to get some nice rose after the glass warmed up and breathed for another hour or so. Mostly subtle cherry and flowers on the palate. Medium+ tannin but well balanced." Anniversary dinner at the cabin with Robin. — 9 years ago

Thanksgiving 2017 at Cozy Corner Cabin in Hocking Hills, Ohio. 🦃
Brought out the heavyweights for this weekend and Paradise is an undisputed champion. 💪
Picked up last year on our Willamette Valley tour and so glad we stopped to see Dan @ Utopia.
None of his wines have disappointed. 🍷
