Committed to trying more old world wines this year and this is a tasty number to kick that off! Easy drinker, very subtle cherry, not fruity. Definite acid and citrus, light tannins, would go great with red sauce as well as heartier fish. Appealing ruby color. Pale garnet color. Medium+ aromas of ripe cherry, dried strawberry , raspberry, dried rose and peony, woody. Developing.
The wine is dry, high acidity, high tannins, high alcohol, medium body, medium+ intense flavor of dried cherry, strawberry, rose and vanilla. Finish is medium.

Medium+ garnet, with a tinge of orange-brown color around the rim. Raspberry and cherry nose, along with that pencil shavings smell. Second hour of air, secondary scents unfolded with some mint, spices and lightly roasted coffee beans. Feels quite Burgundian. Silky tannins. Not much gripping. Mid weight on the palate. Nice acidity; not overly tart. Surprisingly long. The taste lingered for quite a while. 91-92. — 7 years ago
