Giovanna Morganti: Podere Le Boncie. She's a fine and set apart winemaker in San Felice/Castelnuovo Berardenga. Her house is the cellar, her mystic garden the vineyard where she does home-grown her own sangiovese grapes and few others local vine variety (mammolo foglia-tonda colorino canaiolo) allowed in the Chianti Classico Appellation, with such a filial piety and discipline as they were kids in a kindergarden. "Le Trame" is the name of her A rated eldest child, a magnificent utterance of Tuscany through the wine. Here's instead, her declassified sangiovese under the IGT umbrella (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) called simply, 5 - with a touch of self-irony - which in terms of grades at the School would be C or D. I do adore this "slacker" and strapping "5" for the harshness sour inborn at the wine, a spontaneous expression of a very acidic and stoney soil too! — 10 years ago

La claque. Y'a pas a dire les chardonnays c énorme. Vin déjà très ouvert 2009? Peu être en train de se mettre en place pour la garde. Notes de pain d épice tension exceptionnel. — 11 years ago

1999 vintage on Dec 20, 2017 with skillet roasted lemon chicken (Ina Garten). Purchased from a private collector in 2017. Drank alongside 2005 Le Cailloux C-d-Pape to compare and contrast. Although starting to show its age by the orange tinged brown at the brim it evolved beautifully in the glass. Another example of Oregon Pinot Noir that is age-worthy. — 7 years ago

Pour finir l horizontale 2012 , débouché un peu tard , tannique au début , le vin évolue avec un profil très sudiste , je m attendais a plus fin , mais bon derrière chambole et cdr de Reynaud , c est dur d être élégant — 9 years ago
Magnum 1985 Sassicaia. Drank at Factory Kitchen w A&C, J &J D, and DS. Large format was great for a large group. We really enjoyed this wine- it was as epic as we had hoped. Lush and fruitful and velvety. Great. — 10 years ago
This is the 'Cuvée du Roi' 2012 and is clearly a Bourgogne from the Cotes-du-Nuits. This is rich and silky with great depth and structure that has some lovely acidity and fine tannins that drinks well above its level. Could easily be a good C-D-N villages. — 10 years ago

This is a bottle I've looked at 8-10 times and put back recently. While...tasty, still needs lots of bedrest. This 07 C-d-P leans heavily towards Cornas. Heavy, dark tarry. It's seriously dark cassis, the core flavor of anise, blackberries are a under statement, dark cherry liqueur, olallieberries haunt throughout, Christmas cake, dark chocolate, dark cocoa, caramel, vanilla, caramel, burnt toast, dry dark florals, heavily grilled meats, strong leather, dry stones, heavy spice; big clove & nutmeg, dry stems-brambly, dry brown volcanic minerals with dust, decent acidity, strong concentration, structure, length and still out of balance with the earth it's showing. Better in 5 or more years. Wine is still so young & fresh, I'm glad I Coravin-ed it. — 8 years ago
Great wine for every day. — 9 years ago
This shit is cool. a) has a pink glass cork b) a color pink I normally reject in flowers or wines c) Austrian rosé d) slightly fizzy when you pop it #bangbang #winesathome certified would bang again. — 9 years ago
1999 DRC LA Tache. Drank at Factory Kitchen w A&C, J&J D, and DS. K favored this over the 1983 Musigny. Especially after letting it air for a few hours. Lovely. — 10 years ago
Cedar wrapped leather with a deep stone fruit chaser. Wow. Supple wrists helped this pinball wizard with tippling. This wine was drunk at the perfect moment. 2007 now! Occupy C-D-P! Or at least the vineyards dressner has his hand in.

Like a baptist preacher Amen-ing a c-sharp into my cerebellum. Aggressive and bold, yet soft silky tannins that dance delicately on my tongue, a Degas stuck in mid pirouette. Drinking alone in the D often has it's advantages... Drink now if you have this rare bird! — 10 years ago
More charm and less sulphur than a lot of C-d-B whites. — 11 years ago
