Usually Merlot is not among my favorites, but clearly I have been drinking the wrong wines. This wine is wonderfully smooth and balanced with medium-high tannins. Aromas of tobacco, raspberry and pomegranate fill the glass. It has a full bodied pallate of dark cherries and nutmeg, with hints of cocoa and a bit of spice that continue into a long enjoyable finish. This is one of the best double IPA's out there; whether it is a nitrous tap, bomber, or one year old bomber. The depth of this particular beer is perfect on its on its own, a burger with a bird on top, or with a good slow cooked meat. All in all, you will not be disappointed. — 11 years ago

Solid, juicy Langhe Nebbiolo from a classic Barolo producer. Nose of slightly dried red cherry, rose petal and lavender, fennel, orange peel, and a bit of volatile asphalt-y character. The nose echoes the palate pretty congruently in terms of flavor, with some eucalyptus freshness and a bit of extra mineral intensity. High acid, nimble, medium (-) body, and medium (+) tannic intensity. Tannins are surprisingly softly textured despite their intensity. I want this with a blue cheese and jalapeño-topped burger. — 9 years ago
