La Marginale Saumur-Champigny Cabernet Franc 2022

Really an excellent cab franc. Have had stuff from Thierry Germain before but not this bottling. Perfect with a variety of Syrian dishes at Damas in Montreal. Bright, restrained fruit, excellent acid. Nice finish. — 8 months ago

Les Champs Perdrix Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2012

Not a 1er Cru, but it should be! Lovely Vosne. Velvet, sappy cherry fruit with Vosne spice. Hints of vanilla and stones. A whiff of oak char on the nose, but less so on the palate. Decanted for 2 hours prior to consumption. — 4 years ago

Saumur-Champigny Cabernet Franc

Black currants and tart plum with great acid that unfurls the pencil lead silky texture down the center. Generous nose that evolves continually, that at first seems deceptively simple. — 5 years ago

Vieilles Vignes La Combe d'Orveaux Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2007

Reticent on the nose, only giving up hints of spice and red fruit with vigorous swirling. Balanced and lithe on the palate, but finishes short. — 6 years ago

Clos St. Jacques Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2012

Solid CSJ, widely considered a Grand Cru equivalent. But for those who wonder if Fourrier and Rousseau’s CSJ’s are that much better to be more than double the price, the answer is yes. — 4 years ago

Wonderful, beautiful Pinot from the Chablis region. Drinks like a cooler region Pinot - fruity, light-med body, smooth, low-med tannins, nice acid. Could age a bit longer still. — 5 years ago

@Sharon B same..my first Bordeaux ( many years ago) tasted like Band-Aids gone really bad. I do have a Lynch Bages 2016 in waiting. BUT most people do not touch this wine for 20 yrs +. Not sure how well I will enjoy that at age 75!! As I contemplate my wine purchases over time...!
