This is THE beverage that flipped the switch for me about beer 🍻. In my wine class at college, the professor taught ancient fermentation methods with this.. honey, lemon, and kiwi. Saffron? Maybe... — 8 years ago
A great pale ale. As they call it, a Mountain Pale Ale. Nice, moderate hops. Not creamy like a W. Coast Pale Ale, but just a perfect blend of a refreshing beverage with satisfying hops. Love this beer. Watch out, it's 6.5%. Headed to Greek Fest soon. Diving into their wines later. — 8 years ago
Apothic Inferno 2014 appears as a dark ruby vision in the glass and waves at the beholder with a nose born in whiskey and campfire smoke. The palate is also soaked in that boozy barrel, with the flavor of liquor coming through without the heat. The plum and raspberry notes have to fight for notice, and they barely get a signal through, although it does come, with an added hint of rosemary. Tannins are quite firm and will serve a ribeye steak quite well, especially one that’s fresh off the grill.
As a wine, I'd have to say the wood has far too much influence, but that is by design. As a beverage, it's a wild delight, bringing together the best aspects of table wine, port and liquor. — 9 years ago
Very smooth red blend. Lightly peppery with a cherry tone. Can be easily drank without food. Despite. 14.5% alcohol level, it is hardly noticeable. A very fun beverage for Halloween and watching True Blood or the Walking Dead. — 10 years ago
This is wine to pour for those last remaining Francophile snobs who think they will never enjoy a bottle from --GASP --outside of France or surrounding vineyards. I know, there are thankfully not so many of these people left, but the point is, this tastes like a classic, pre-oakification, totally quaffable " let's have this with some rich, wintery food" sort of beverage. If you don't like this, we will have to find something else to talk about.

Never in my life have I encountered a beverage like this. This is truly like liquid stone and stone fruit skin in the absolute craziest way. I don’t really know what to do with it but I will be back for more if for none other than shear interest. Not a quaffing wine and by no means is this fun, this is the most serious wine I have ever encountered. Not sloppy and not flawed. Georgian shamanism at its most psychedelic. — 7 years ago
A domestic favorite. Be careful opening it. If you are not familiar with the method of pouring IMMEDIATELY following the cap removal be prepared to lose most of the beverage to the floor or counter. I would give this a 9.2, but I feel like the unstable fizz is a major damper for most people. — 8 years ago
I really like the flavor! Refreshing- subtly complex, very fun loving bubbly beverage — 8 years ago

This Pinot Noir (the t in Pinot is silent) is delectable. A true shining star. The aromatic treat starts with strong notes of red, and screams 'drink the entire bottle buddy'. Succumbing to the temptation you will discover a blissful elegance as this masterpiece flows through your body. Invigorating your inner youth, enchanting your inner sommelier, and appeasing your inner drunkard with the 16.0% alcohol by volume. This reasonably priced bottle of happiness would truly be a delight on any occasion. Additionally the surgeon general declares consumption of such a magnificent beverage could be detrimental to the growth of a child, pregnant women be warned. — 9 years ago
Great Chinese traditional dinner wine — 10 years ago
This doesn't even taste of wine. It's, like, a whole other beverage. Sour, acidic, rich. Surprisingly little nuttiness. But what an experience. — 10 years ago
Great summer beverage. Citrus abounds, Light, tart, and bubbly... Wonderful with greens or a great Spanish custard... — 10 years ago

Pretty, fresh, mouth-watering aperitif and food-friendly wine from one of the top producers in Montilla-Moriles. Alvear offers several different versions of Pedro Ximenez covering the full spectrum of styles- this one is decidedly austere, light and saline. Limestone and silica found in the unique chalk soils make these wines very vibrant and aromatic, providing great lift. 100 % PX from a single harvest, these are typically bottled after two years in neutral American oak casks and are not fortified (15% ABV). This is showing a very briny mouthfeel and savory flavors ranging from sea salt to green olives to fresh almonds. Not displaying a lot of primary fruit alongside the salinity- subtle apple, pear and other white fruit aromas. The freshness is very appealing, making for a great aperitif and we found it paired wonderfully with seafood tapas and salad. This is not traditional Sherry by any means (technically it is a Sherry-like beverage), but it's a superb value and serves its purpose quite well. — 7 years ago

Robert Michel he is something of an institution when it comes to Cornas and its wines. Actually 2006 it's been his last vintage before retirement, even though he has continued to help and give advice to the young and gifted winemaker Guillaume Gilles. Cuvée des Coteaux here it comes from two parcels: Les Chaillots and Le Quartier de Renard. Michel used to make severe, uncompromised, traditionally austere and long-lived wines. Manual harvest, gentle fermentation with the entire stems, wine ageing in larger sized demi-muid cask. A pity that such a majestic vigneron doesn't make such one-shot wines any more. Though, what a patriarchal wine here we've got: power and delicacy at the same time in this 2006; purity, unsophisticated class is all I love in those kind of wines. Well, what else? Dionysus bless Michel and his solemn beverage in time and in eternity. — 9 years ago
