Tasted side by side with the 2013 vintage. Deep purplish red. A bit floral on the nose with some cedar, blackberries and quite a bit of spices. Sweet and heavy tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Nice complexity on the palate with blackcurrants, blackberries, sweet spices, woody, a bit gamey and dark crushed gravel. A bit of red berries with some time. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2027. | Sample from Winery - $70 — 8 years ago
This is actually the 2013 Prime Solum Broken Rock Vineyard Merlot.
Super small production out of the Broken Rock Vineyard in Atlas Peak, only 38 cases produced. Deep garnet red. Tied up nose with just notes of stewed black berries and cherries with cinnamon undertones. A bit earthy on the palate with dark crushed gravel layered with black cherries, dark cocoa and a touch savory. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and medium bodied. Tons of acidity and structure. Long finish. Drink till 2024. — 8 years ago
Worth the wait. Worth the broken cork. Glad there's 5 more! — 9 years ago

Côtes de Bourg is a Bordeaux region that many don’t know that delivers incredible wines for a fraction of the price of other regions. This higher priced bottle at £40+ sure delivers an amazing wine that would be triple in St Emilion & made by the folks from Tertre Rôteboeuf & called “the junior Tertre Rôteboeuf“ 👍 Drinking great young but will improve 😉

Like Andrew I got a dry broken cork. And as he mentioned, the wine age worthy yet. Crystalline purple color, pine scents. Delicious plummy cherry fruits. Tannins provide structure acidity refreshes. Long finish. Should easily keep and improve for at least 3 more years. — 10 years ago
